Leaving a note in my mailbox saying I suicided call 9/11 so the cops can find my body before my household?

Here is my plan if I CTB The mailman doesn't come until 11ish to afternoon and I plan to shoot myself straight in the morning which gives me a few hours to die. My household is working days as far as I know meaning they don't come in until late evening.

So I'm going to leave a small note in the mailbox saying there was a suicide call 9/11. If everything goes as planned the mail delivery guy will call 9/11 and the cops will find my body within a hour or two or maybe minutes.

Is this plan too idiotic or risky? Am I being too much of a selfish cunt doing this?

There is a decently sized backyard with a large electric fence and a truck that I own in it. I plan to cover up my truck, lock myself in it and then I'll CTB. Yes there will still be a crime scene but their house/property won't be stained with my blood and they can easily sell it if it brings too many bad memories.

Your arrangements seem very considerate. The message to the postman seems risky to me, though. If they (or someone else) finds it before you're finished that could lead to scenarios you probably don't want. I'd probably leave the message inside the house instructing my household to call 911.

This seems like a good plan @EmotionlessWanderer and yes, if the property brings too many painful memories, then family and surviving kin can sell the property.

I had a similar plan too when I was planning to CTB (back in March 2019 when I had originally set my date to end of May 2019). Instead of the mailbox, I would use delayed text messages and delayed emails to my family, the people who know me IRL, and maybe a friend or two. I would drive out to my backyard, at night, and CTB (via a shotgun). Since I don't actively plan to CTB anytime soon, it's just a passing thought for the future (if there ever comes a point where I would CTB).

That's my back-up: I intend to send a delayed-delivery email to the sheriff, and in case that fails (they sometimes get tagged as spam, due to coming through the delay service's IP) I will have a note in the mailbox for the mail carrier just exactly as you described: "Please call the sheriff at (123) 456-7890; I have ended my life." Additionally, in the email to the sheriff I mention the note in the mailbox and recommend they remove it if they arrive first, to spare the mail carrier distress.

If you are living with family it will be shock for them to find your body and a lot of blood. IMHO, the better way is to find any remote place, call 911 and tell them where you are, and then do what you want or do nothing.

the irony is that if he had been caught and hospitallized he wouldve almost definitely been approved for a SSI which he felt might sustain him enough to live.
