I'm dyslexic, add, adhd, it has completely wrecked my self esteem . I do use a lot of assistive tech but that alone has not enough. I need have always needed guidance and coaching and mentoring these thing are seemingly non existent without strong social supports..

Another person with Aspergers here. Self-esteem and confidence vanished long ago, as did the will and ability to even open my front door. I'm completely agoraphobic now. Oh, and even if I was to go out, I also have a mobility disability to make things harder. Besides, I honestly don't know where I'd go because I know no one anymore.

I too have aspergers, makes nearly all social interaction very difficult, apparently I'm also a "robot" because I lack most emotional expression, jobs are in a league of their own, just try and hold a job down for more than 6months! Relationships are much the same. I'm just glad that I have an almost obsessive focus on my last topic that will end in my eternal peace

"Surrounded by idiots" this is the truest thing I have ever heard, this is how I generally feel about 90% of the people I meet irl.

I'm a real ignorant and I had no idea about some of these diseases(??)
having a long attention span on something is now has a name? and it's a disorder!?
i think I've started to understand why some people here hated getting help(??)
i think part of it is because of these labels that they are given and a narrow minded definition of being normal by society.

It's not the labels that are the problem it's the being singled out and ignored from society because your different that's what hurts

I hate being who I am, and I refuse existential suffering. Just let me out of here. Don't wanna have anything to do with anybody, not even with the best of human beings. Very true, although I do find a lot of solace here actually fast becoming the only place I will talk to anyone as no one judges and everyone is really understanding, well apart from the odd pro-lifer here and there
