I think I remember reading about this. It turns my stomach seeing what this person has done. To murder innocent children after already murdering your husband a few years prior? Wtf?

** Someone pointed out that it was attempted murder, not a completed murder. Either way...still fucked up.
** Rereading the article, only one child died from it. I'm so sorry, I keep getting caught up in my dumb anger and am exaggerating the true story here.

That's beyond fucked up. The death penalty is too lenient for someone who could commit this kind of atrocity.

Oh she also murdered her husband? Why wasn't she sentenced to death then, this whole atrocity could have been prevented..

She attempted to, but did not succeed. The article states he suffered "minor injuries".

Yes, it's in the very end. She did it fairly recently though, kinda weird she was working normally after that. I don't know how Chinese law works though.

"revenge"? i'm not going to pretend as if i know the entire story between her and her colleague, but why involve children? they aren't to blame for what happened between her and her colleague.

The attack took place in March 2019 and left one boy severely ill for months before he died in January this year, according to news reports

hm? months? its always said that a failed SN is easily and quickly recoverable

The article says that the boy was "severely ill for months" before dying. This supports the idea that surviving an SN attempt can have long-term effects.

Do you ever look at another person and thank the Lord that your brain doesn't work the same they theirs does?

I'd sooner poison myself than innocent children.

It takes a really sick and twisted to person to poison children. The kid was ill for months but we don't know if that kid had any other health issues or what after effects he was suffering from after consuming SN.

Any method that can cause death can cause long term injury. Most SN attempts do not seem to display lingering issues.

Some people are allergic to sodium nitrite and hopefully that was the cause of his bad reaction. It might also have affected him that way because of his age. If not then it is really worrying...

Truly sickening. This kind of stuff is why I can't wait to leave this world.

It's so annoying how people can get SN to do this, but we can't.

I can't read it. Since my son died I find it very hard to read how sick society is. I get the jist this vile excuse of a teacher person poisoned innocent children. I hope chinas death penalty for her is in front of a firing squad tomorrow no today.

I can't even get the courage to harm myself and thinking 1000% times before taking a step and there are murders like these going around harming innocent children. God damn! This fucker might be the reason SN gets regulated and what not.

I think it may be worded badly. its worded as in they were poisoned and then 10 months later they died from it. from what everyone has said you don't suffer any lasting effects after it. now either thats wrong or there is something we all need to know. either way i would like to know the answer personally. maybe people shouldn't be doing half arse attempts with the stuff if this can happen.

then again its a child, it may effect a child alot more than an adult? i have no idea if this is correct. either way its a sick thing to do.

So messed up, can't comprehend why someone would hurt OTHERS who are innocent especially in his issues. One thing if it was some kind of a serial killer/rapist who hurt them and got away with it. But not normal people or children.

If you want it all to end then end own life, that's it. The only sympathy I can find is that I am not sure if they had long lasting mental health problems, as I imagine getting help with that in China as in most of East Asia is nearly impossible.

I dont think they were particularly 'normal' they had tried to poison their own husband before they did it to the kids!!

not the sort of stuff your average person does, something was going on. not that it makes it any better

That's unfortunate, I wish mental health would be taken much more serious in the world. But same as cancer, it's not profitable researching and finding the cure for big pharmas, better have people spend trillions on pills which do more damage than good for as long as they keep going... /s

But hopefully, one day...

This is a cultural issue they don't often talk about in China and their news doesn't report it. Here in the United States we have mass shootings but what occurs in china is often mass stabbings and the victims are children while the perpetrators are middle aged. The reason for this besides complete evil intentions is that there are no retirement plans in China. People who send their children to school often spend all of their money and work tirelessly to do so. For the poor that educated child is the only hope of elevating their family from poverty. Even for those that aren't poor their child will take care of them when they are old. It's very engrained in the culture for people to take care of their parents. China had the one child policy for a long time so there was only one child per family in most cases to care for the elders. Even once the policy was lifted many stick to one child because the cost of feeding and educating them is so high. The sinister killing of kids like this is usually an attempt to damage as many families as possible and leave them without a future
It's done out of spite and malice and is a very terrible thing.
