Unfortunately ketamine is very short-lived. That works out well for the clinics though since a lot of the doctors are entrepreneurs first, doctors second.I found the visions/hallucinations terrifying. I did get some mood improvement from the infusions (not the nasal spray, though). Unfortunately, my improved mood fizzled after a few days. A combo of IV ketamine and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) gave me some relief for about a month. That kind of treatment isn't sustainable, though. On top of being crazy expensive, you do literally nothing else for the duration of treatment, which is like 4-6 weeks. You can't—you feel like a wrung-out washing rag afterward.
