What evil person decided to "save" her rather than just allow her to die?

Heck, there might have been a person who actually wanted to live who ended up dying because doctors wasted their time "saving" Katie rather than saving that person. Hospitals don't have unlimited resources, so why not spend the resources on people who actually want to live?

I can appreciate that their efforts were made in good faith, but yes I agree, Katie's intentions were clear and they should have let her be. Although, it would be interesting to hear her stance on things today. Does she still wish she had died that day, or has she found reason to live?

Made in good faith? You seriously think that forcing a person to live like that is "in good faith?"

Anyway, Stubblefield now claims that she's glad she's alive. However, something tells me that she really wishes she was dead, and is just pretending to be glad she's alive because she doesn't want to be involuntarily committed.

Somebody posted something on here a week or two ago about a person in Austria who pretended to become an anti-suicide activist after losing at least one of his legs in a suicide attempt, but ended up shocking everybody by making a second (successful) suicide attempt.

I agree that it was a mistake to save her life, because her actions should have been a strong enough indicator that she no longer wanted to be here. But, if she genuinely now wants to live, then I find it hard to condemn them completely. The truth is that people's' perspectives and opinions change sometimes, but for others they never do, it depends on the individual. However, as you said, it may well be that she's lying about being glad to have survived.

I saw that, and I think that such cases aren't covered enough in the media, they seem to have a pro-life agenda and only focus on recovery stories, ignoring the reality that there are many suicidal people who never restore their will to live.

Department of defense was paying for her as I understood because information would be valuable for soldiers

I just remembered that the guy I'm thinking of was Dutch (I'm pretty sure) and not Austrian, so I'm unsure if it's the same guy that @Jessica5 mentioned. Unfortunately I don't remember his name so I can't get the article to link to you.
