I live in a rooming house. I moved here when I first started the job of 20 years I just got tossed from, and just never left. As I mentioned in my intro, I collect things. I have a place full of stuff. Today I started putting my plans into action, and hauled a ton of stuff to Goodwill. Only problem is, there is a sitting area with people next to the parking lot where I have to load my car, and guys with nothing to do but smoke, drink, talk BS, and be nosy. One of them is actually one of the few that's been here as long as I have, and he came over concerned, worried I was moving out. I just played it off that I was getting rid of the crap I have accumulated. The guys know I collect things, so it's plausible. Idon't know how much stuff I can be seen hauling out without raising suspicion. That guy that came up to me knows I lost my job. I don't want interference.

would it be possible to doing the moving discrete times when theres none in and around that area? Maybe the night time. Or early in the morning. that really might be your best shot in terms of being discrete about getting it out and moving it without anyone asking or trying to start up a convo.

I'll be leaving some stuff, for sure. I mean, anything personal I want gone, of course. Furniture can stay. I've even thought about leaving my TV and 4K player. Stereo, that kind of thing. But I don't know, my collectables seem too personal and intimate. I want to leave a note with the building owner that he can keep anything I leave behind. I just don't want there to be anything left of a personal nature, or anything a relative might feel the need to claim.

Do you have collectables that someone would come and visit you to price up and take away? Maybe that would be a way of breaking up the 'removal' process?

I wish you all the best with you plans.

If all else fails maybe say, "I prefer you leave me alone." Maybe he'll stop being so nosy. Who wants attention when they're putting their plans in order.
