Venting Just did something absolutely shitty and felt guilt I haven't felt in years

OMFGGGGGG I JUST BLURT SHIT OUT

I couldn't handle being in class anymore and I had been sitting with some POTENTIAL friends so I went out to take a call, came back in and said I have to leave my sister's in the hospital.

Naturally they asked oh no what's wrong and I just blurted out "she tried to kill herself" with a dumbass frown without thinking twice. They just said oh sorry and went silent and I left like I was in a hurry.


I wasn't even planning a lie of this magnitude I was just gonna tell them she needs me to take her to the clinic. Omggg I haven't felt guilty in years but this genuinely hurts my heart. Gonna try to be a shitty person and justify this shit in my head and try to forget it.

It's totally natural to panic and blurt something out even if you wanted to glaze over it or tell a white lie! I can't imagine how stressed you must have been after finding out your sister attempted in the middle of class. I don't think this is something you need to be guilty over. Your potential friends probably just didn't know what to say. Be kind to yourself love, you're going through a hard time <3

Oh I understand what you mean, I'm sorry. Still. You panicked and you were put on the spot and your brain spat out the first thing it thought of. If you'd like you can come clean but chances are they probably won't find out. We all panic and say dumb shit sometimes. It'll be okay <3

This does help kinda thank you. I'm just spiralling into a web of lies now told them my cousin was pranking me... Can't even stroke my ego by internalizing this as being a good liar cause obviously no one's gonna question such a serious lie anyways.

That's probably a good way to get rid of the responsibility and make the lie go away. I think it makes a lot of sense that that's the first excuse you'd think of if you're suicidal yourself. Try not to beat yourself up too much okay?
