When you jump (succesfully) from a building, do you think you lose consciousness before hitting the ground? Or would you feel the full impact?

(I apologise for all these questions I've been asking, just trying to find a method that's right for me!)

Unless you have some sort of heart condition, it's highly unlikely you'll lose conciousness before hitting the ground. You should be dead on impact

no, but I think it is such an adrenaline rush in split of a second, that person dont get a chance to feel much
(unless the person hit his head on th way down )

may be it depends on whether you have landed on your head or legs. it would be better if head hits the ground first than legs i think.

People skydive all the time from heights much greater than buildings and they usually don't lose consciousness.

Though there was a New Zealand skydiver who survived a 15,000ft fall, partially because he blacked out so his body became completely relaxed. If you're stiff and all tensed up then the impact of the ground travels up through you more easily which causes more damage to your body.

Thanks for the info all. I think jumping will definitely be an option for me. There is a high multi story carpark in my city where people have jumped from and died. Although I'm still gonna explore my options.

The major con about jumping is overcoming your SI. It takes ALOT to be able to throw yourself off the ledge. Many people have stood on the ledge and just could'nt find the will power to jump. Including myself - twice.

Check your surroundings before jumping. Try to avoid landing on cars.. tress.. grass patches.. people. And make sure that you don't survive because chances are you'll be fucked for life.

This method has one of the higher chances to succed if carried out well.

I heard alcohol helps with SI so i'd probably drink some beforehand. The multi story carpark in my city will be an ideal place to do it. Its very high up and at the top of the carpark, it'd normally empty so I could go there, drink alcohol and just chill for a bit an then when I'm ready, jump.

Do you think that seems ok?

It may help but there is no magic formula.
People have died jumping from the 2nd floor. People have survived dropping from 84 stories. So yeah...
I tried to CO myself in the car with sleeping pills. My SI refused to allow me to sleep even though I had taken quite a number- additionally I was with sleeping only 4 hours per day for a week. So yeah different people have different levels of SI. Mine is extremely stubborn.

Alcohol may help - tbh I have no idea. I've never tried that method. Alcohol is really hard to come in the country that I stay in.
But make sure you arn't pissed drunk.. you might just end up jumping legs first and injuring yourself.

Yeah, I don't want to jump and then survice..that would really suck. I'll still keep the jumping method in mind anyway. And SI is a bitch, wish there was a way to completely get rid of it so I could ctb easily.

But even if you don't jump head first and go legs first but from a decent height say 10 floors, won't that ensure death? Overcoming SI itself feels like a huge task and on top of that trying to positioning yourself correctly is tough right?

The height is important for this. No you don't lose consciousness as soon as you jump...that's a myth. You may feel time slowing down. If your body hits the ground with a good amount of velocity you will lose consciousness the instant you hit the ground and die when the brain shuts down abruptly due to shock.

Google - 'man survies 47 story fall'
Or ' man survives jumping off golden bridge'

Yes stories are minimal VS people that actually managed to CTB. But there is still that small figure of people that missed the bus - which nobody is able to explain. Some say it's God's will, some say the angle, the weather, ect.. I guess sometimes when it is just not your turn to go - it ain't.

Odds are better if you hit the ground head first. At my work place, a lady jumped from the second floor head first. Her brains were smashed against the marble flooring. If she had landed on her feet - would have been a total different story, I guess.

I always thought if I tried jumping I might have a heart attack on way down from sheer terror. That would be good so you'd maybe pass out or at least be unaware of hitting the ground

Thats what I always thought would happen but apparently not although I think it does happen to some who jump.

There is a chance for the legs to break if anyone lands on their feet first . Also in that case head wouldn't take as much impact as the legs take , so they might not go unconscious the moment they hit the ground. So ,will have to experience the excruciating pain of damage to their limbs. Sounds very painful.

I watched some videos on liveleak where people who had recently jumped were shot. There were some who were still alive and were in consciousness although her body was horribly destroyed.

People have survived jumping from beachy head.
Just google 'survived jumping from beachy head'.

So you must get your technique right. Head first to maximize odds.

Depends from which point you jump from.
There'a a specific point that gives you the full drop. Some people land on the bed rocks - of which will super painful if you survive. Some drown during the high tide if the jump alone did not work.

531 feet is pretty friggin high, people may have survived but there must be a less then 1% chance of that happening

You are right. Could be around 2 to 3% according to different sources.
I would'nt want to be part of that pool. Especially surviving with horrible injuries.

But yeah jumping if carried out well, still has one of the better odds of CTB.
