Instead of searching for a high building or a bridge to jump from, why not use a dam?

They are often very high and you don't have to gain access and get busted by trespassing.

Are dams accessible for normal people?

There are a lot of dams in Switzerland which are very high and YouTube videos exist where people let fall balls from dams.

No dams here in Buenos Aires, I think.

Still, I could never jump. Not my method, certainly.

Thx, i also have no dams as i would know in germany, but maybe as a tourist, i could reach a dam and jump.

I have realised that it seems i have no fear of heights, so jumping would be my first choice, because it's instant, painless and after a certain high is reached, the death would be safe.

Isn't Switzerland full of famous spots where you can ctb by jumping?

I'm not sure how easy it is to access the ones in my country. (UK) I think if I did want to jump I would choose Beachy Head, as many have ctb there. I do lack the courage to jump though anyway.

It's easy to jump off dams here. But jumping has too many variables, including SI. So I'll pass :(

Cool, which dams would you recommend, where i can get to jump off?

I also though of jump from cliffs (don't know which is high enough).

Unfortionally beachy head is infested with anti-suicide life guards, otherwise i would have been already jumped from there

I went to the hoover dam a few years ago and there is no way in hell I could jump off it.

Im good with heights but even looking over the edge gave me a weird feeling in my stomach.

Which spots for example?
I don't know, but I'm sure Google does. There are popular suicide spots in every country, I'm sure Bavaria, Switzerland & Austria are full of beautiful places accessible to suicidal tourists

Isn't Switzerland surrounded by mountains and forests? Good places to ctb in secret. Also Dignitas is based near Zurich. Also easy access to firearms.

Switzerland seems like the idea place to ctb. Ironic because it is so beautiful.

I wanted to, but then i saw some youtube reports about suicide patrols which are 24h on beachy head
From what people on here who've been have said, it seems like it's not all the time and there are often times when there is nobody there for long stretches of time. But others have been intercepted.

I think the chance of them actually stopping you is fairly low because the area they have to patrol is so big, but nonetheless there's other good jumping places in the uk. anything above 30 metres should be fine for jumping but its better to go as high as you possibly can

I am scared of heights but if jumping is your preferred method make sure to land on solid ground. Too many stories of survivors who jumped into water from incredible heights. Seems unreliable.

Dam is probably better than building or bridge also because dams are usually in nature, so there aren't so many people who would disturb us and also we would have a nice view before jumping.

However I don't know any high dam in my country. And still I don't even know if I could jump. I would probably need some run up, so the dam is certainly better than building or bridge because of that.

I think there's a couple good bridges and cliffs in Scotland but I didn't bother to look further as it's too far for me.
there's a bridge called the clifton suspension bridge, and one in yorkshire called the humber bridge that look high enough to me; they have suicide barriers on them but those are apparently not very effective most of the time. I also think the seven sisters just next to beachy head look good for jumping but they are not as well-known for suicide, so they might be a good alternative.

Thought of dams too, they look very friendly in person. All of those near me are kind of built at an angle though, so while they're very high up, the jump would end just a few metres in. It's so depressing.

Total fabrication. I have been 3 times, long story what happened... Lots of scaremongering on here. They drive by on the road every now and then that's it. You can be there for hours without ever meeting anyone, particularly after sunset. Easy to go and ctb if you want to and pretty much guaranteed success given the height and velocity at which you will hit the ground.

Agree, my method will be jumping but not into water, for sure.

There is a video on YouTube of a guy who jumped off a dam filmed by a tourist, he just slides all the way down no doubt getting his skin torn to shreds then hits the bottom part violently. Looks horrible.

I live nearby a dam (about 2 hours by foot) which is 45 m high. Is that high enough? I've heard from a member jumping from the same height and survived without being paralyzed. I'm not sure if I should take that risk. What do you folks think?
