i live across from this "church" thats really a cult. they worship a saint, this people can ascend, believe america is the chosen land and that a flame will come and purge everyone, etc. Had a scandal about scamming followers out of millions. culty stuff. i literally have a view of their huge empty fenced in lawn from my balcony and hear them chanting some sundays.

i'm not religious but i think im going to start going to their meetings. for no reason other than that i think it would be really funny. One of their official books said their saint (who died in the 500's) was the reason the declaration of independence was signed.

hard to be bored if you're being indoctrinated into a right-wing (white supremacist??) cult i believe . the white supremacist part is really just inferred but still

Why would you want to be part of a religious white supremacist cult?

I mean, I get the absurdist factor, but just on principle?

well, it's all fun so long as you don't start actually believing in it. i just feel like it'd get old pretty old fast, idk.

people are pretty weird and scary sometimes. but hey, if you can get something out of them in the mean time..

As someone with a cultish background who is friends with many cult survivors. This is just a bad idea. Find a different stone bench. You have zero idea if they're the type to get mad if you try to leave the cult, or to stalk you home, so this could literally be fucking up your entire life "for the funnies."

Obviously it's your choice, but don't come crying to this forum acting like you didn't expect it when you start "conveniently" running into people fom the meetings during errands like grocery shopping or clothes shopping 😅
