Technically I won't start until "tomorrow," but I finally have what I need to proceed. The formic acid isn't going to arrive in time, so I'm forced to go with the potassium ferricyanide route to produce CO (dilute requires heating and produces HCN instead). Here's my setup:
Stage 1: Reaction bucket. Contains 3 quarts of ~93% sulfuric acid, I'm using an excess amount because in small trial runs, I found that high amounts of ferricyanide reacting may cause some boiling to occur. In total I have about 800 grams of potassium ferricyanide, although only half of that may be used because of the heat released.
Stage 2: Gas washer. This isn't much more than a bucket of water with baking soda in it, but it's just in case any formic acid formed ends up escaping. There's a tube running from the lid of the reaction bucket to the inside of this one.
Stage 3: The exit bin. The gas washer will have another tube that will lead to a garbage can that I will be sitting inside of. The inside of the garbage bin is only 13 cubic feet so the amount of gas produced from the reaction will be WAY more than enough to be fatal.
Because of how fast this whole process will be, I won't be able to provide updates. I'll start at 2am, if you don't hear an update within 8 hours then I'm gone. I wish everyone the best and that you all can find peace in one way or another.
