• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Every day I always see a news article about how so and so has tragically died, people who hit their head and never get back up or who drink just a bit too much and choke, people who die in their sleep from a random aneurysm or just stop breathing. When I was a teenager one of my teachers fell asleep in the bath and passed away, no drugs or alcohol in his system he was just tired and couldn't wake up in time.

All these tiny little things that can end someone's life so quickly, and meanwhile I've been here ingesting poisons, throwing myself off the pier, mixing all the drugs I can get my hands on, and my body just won't give in. All these attempts and all I've got is some light organ damage. Insane.

I've been thinking a lot about this too. maybe it's some subconscious survival instinct or maybe it's just bad luck in both cases. feels like a bad joke too.

I understand, it's just so cruel to me how trying to die can go wrong and lead to more suffering, I wish it's not so difficult to cease existing on my own terms, I wish there's the option to just simply cease existing and never exist ever again, I always just hope and wish to not exist, I just want peace from this existence.

those people are lucky in many ways, they won't know certain types of suffering that cause people to have to take their lives. you say you ingested poisons, which ones? have you tried SN?

It genuinely just feels like a very bad joke. Why do people who want to live have this happen to them while we beg to die and we don't? This world honestly just wants to fuck everyone over.

One of my buddies; the most pro-life guy ever. He was religious, hardworking, healthy, didn't smoke nor drink, and played various sports every week. He got engaged to a girl, bought a house and everything seemed great. One day he simply fainted at home then passed away at the hospital an hour later. Do you think he's lucky or unlucky?

Deeply unlucky.. if someone wanted to die and died, I could see that as luck, but I could never see it as luck when someone who has so much potential to live a good, fulfilling life, dies - especially when they never wanted to die. It is tragic to see such a waste of a good life. Many here wish they could live such a life, and would no longer be suicidal if they could attain such fulfillment. This makes me sad.

For those of us killing ourselves, dying is easier than living. CTB can't be the hardest thing, because it is an escape from living unfulfilled lives, and living a life like that.. is the hardest thing to do. As for the bravest.. when we want to die, we are giving up. I have never felt brave about it, knowing how many people will be hurt when I'm gone. I feel like a coward running away. I will agree that taking ones own life can be difficult, and one has to overcome a measure of fear to do it.. but we are not heroes. This is not the hardest, bravest thing we can do. We are giving up. Let's not pretend it is some noble thing.

It makes me sad as well because I had a good life, that I loved. I'm ruined now. No recovery possible. I'm scared but there is no other option.

Yes, I can understand, but we tend to be perfectionists. In the end, we are planners, and for this reason, we have little to do with the image of the suicidal person portrayed by newspapers and TV. The average suicidal person is no different from someone who trips over a stone, hits their head, and dies on the spot—they act on impulse, in a moment of crisis, without any real planning. We are not like that. We are probably the 0.02% of all suicidal individuals.
We couldn't give a damn if they make pill packages smaller to prevent suicides or if they put barriers around bridges to stop people from jumping. This doesn't concern us, and honestly, I think no one in this group cares about it either.

Accidental drug overdose is trivially easy but purposeful drug overdose is nearly impossible. It's like a sick joke

I think about this too.
A robbery gone wrong with an impulsive gunshot from a moving car can kill instantly, but then I read how you have to carefully place the gun to ensure you die. The suicides that fail because of the slightest error in trajectory.
Or accidentally mixing too much alcohol with the wrong meds can kill a person, but after all the research in the world. It can still keep someone who desperatly wants to die, alive.
It's fucked.

I mean, the human body is fragile, and it's not hard to die from recklessness.

What is so difficult is intentionally dying in a reliable (and peaceful) way.

I don't envy people who die of accidents or natural causes, and most of the time it doesn't seem like an easy way to go. A small percentage of them may die a quick and painless death, but the vast majority have to suffer.

For example homicide kills a few thousand more people than suicide each year. You might imagine a nice clean gunshot to the head, but the reality is people are getting choked to death, stabbed, bludgeoned, shot in the abdomen where they bleed out in agony, the list goes on. Murderers typically aren't going to great lengths to make death comfortable for their victim.

Another top cause of death is cancer. It can take years to kill you bit by bit while you suffer terribly. It can also devastate families financially. There isn't a fast and comfortable way to die of cancer, it's more of a long battle.

Out of unintentional injury deaths, poisoning is the leading cause. In reality poisoning means drug overdoses. This may be a relatively peaceful way to die, but most of time you need to be a drug addict to die this way. From what I've seen, being addicted to things like meth, oxycontin, and fentanyl is not a happy lifestyle.

The next most common cause of death is motor vehicle accidents. If you're lucky you're knocked out quickly, but many people are crushed and mangled, trapped in the car in extreme pain while the emergency crew uses jaws of life to extract them. If you're really unlucky you'll get severe burns over your body. It can be an extremely traumatic way to die.

After car accidents comes drowning. Accidental drowning is terrifying and extremely painful, one of the worst ways to die.

In very rare cases people die of things like sudden cardiac relatively painlessly, or die instantly in airplane crashes. But the vast majority are facing a more difficult and painful death.

it is very ironic; I often wish I could trade places with those unintentional deaths. I've jumped out of a place 28 times and just ended up with a sprained ankle; I've also gone diving in the ocean and someone ended up grabbing me when I was 60 ft deep. It was very painful when the water entered my lungs like a million knives. I really hoped I would die. They only kept me in the ER for one night. It's a cruel world indeed.

Yeah, true. There have literally been crazy ways people have met their end, eg. Aeschylus, the Greek playwright, being killed by a tortoise dropped on his head by an eagle who mistook his head for a rock.

I think about this a lot. So many people die everyday from car crashes or freak accidents or they're young and had an incurable disease or they fall and hit their head.

Why can't that happen to me? I just want a quick painless death and to not exist anymore.

I spent the whole of yesterday,
Hoping that a car will hit me but being too scared to step in front of one
