The only reason I am still alive is because of my 2 Betta Fish. I have them in a tank next to my bed and I keep it super clean and feed them high quality food, which costs me a fair amount. I've had them since 2016, and they are really healthy despite the fact that they are only suposed to only live for 3 to 5 years. I know they are only fish, but I would feel so guilty leaving them behind and I don't trust that my family would take care of them. As soon as they die I am killing myself. God I am stupid.

Many people here seem to lack love, belonging and purpose in life. Whatever brings you those feelings and anchors you here a bit longer is a good thing, be it your family, your friends, your job or your fish.
For as long as you have something that keeps you in this world, you have a chance to find love, belonging and purpose and, as such, a further reason to stay and possibly find contentment or maybe even happiness. So no, it is not stupid at all to stick around for your fish for a while. Your pets will thank you for it and, as all pet lovers know, no one will ever take care of our fur babies, or (in your case) scale babies, as well as we do ourselves. Enjoy them and their company for as long as you can. Death is a very permanent state you can always choose later when there is truly no joy and hope left anymore. You can't unkill yourself.

It makes a lot of sense. Concern for fish is perfectly reasonable. You care about them, and are worried they won't survive without you. You care about them, that's what is of note. Nothing stupid at all.

I do better than myself lol... I've upgraded their tank like 3 times and probably spent close to $200

No. The only reason I am alive is because of my cats. One of the reason why my partner who CTB 3 days ago told me I shouldn't follow him a d it wasn't my time. I also have 2 turtles.

No, it's not stupid. I was going to ctb years ago and I bought meto and N. I just couldn't bring myself to take it with my poor little dog staring up at me with love in his eyes.
Now things are so much worse that I can think of leaving him. He'll be happy with a new owner, I'm quite sure.

I do understand this statement. You hold on as long as you can, until the pain is so great, nothing else matters.

No not at all stupid, but you are actually in touch with two of the miracles of life, love for living beings, and compassion for creatures that depend on you, and you are up to the task. Far from stupid, it is an amazing thing that you are experience, you are needed right now. Thank you for your love and care of at least 2 living beings.
