I ordered 2 batches of SN but both are clumped up in bricks with hardly any in powder form even though both were sealed pack.

Should I bother testing it or continue with my CTB attempt to tonight as I fear this is the best I can get in India right now.

Both of these are extra pure 98%+ and I really don't have the resources/skill to test it on a Nitrite kit.

Please help.

Looks good, same colour and consistency as mine. Try to avoid exposing it to air prior to using it as it'll slowly degrade.

I just read some posts on SN where they have claimed that it turns to NaNo3(Sodium Nitrate) of there's clumping. Hope that's not the case here, I am so confused :/

The clumping doesn't mean you got the wrong substance. If you read it right, they noticed it was not SN because the vendor or the producer put the wrong label on the bottle.

Clumping is common and suggests no anti-caking agent. Which is a good thing because it means higher purity. As for testing, you might want to mix a drop of blood with some SN on a spoon. It shoulld turn dark chocolate colour. It's probably not suffice to tell the exact purtiy but it's the simplest method we have:

Clumping must not be a problem someone has confirmed that it will still pass aquarium test if its NaNO2.
