Is suicide the "easy way out"? What's your honest opinion?

Can be in some ways, depends how bad things are though. Probably depends on your method too, I haven't got SN or N yet but I am sure it's going to be a cakewalk at this point. Hanging will require more courage and determination, something like jumping would just not be doable.

Depends on the individual case really. Its certainly not easy to kill yourself in general or make the decision. Its probably harder to endure and make something of your life if everything has become fucked up.

For a really honest take, it can be.

It's amazing how ungrateful I was. At first when I had my awakening about where I was in life, it was all about finding a really high paying job and finding a way to get a lot of money.

Through all the craziness, I lost it mentally. Now I would honestly just take my mental health back and just be able to hold down a 50k job.

Depends. For me (with good method) it is most desired way to go. But at the same time its the hardest. Because I'm not out of all options yet, and i still have some hope. But this can change in future. For now NO.

Depends. It's a huge difference between a terminally ill person, a chronic sufferer of depression and a suicidal teenager.

In some cases the suicidal person should receive help and treatment instead of taking "the easy way out". For the terminally ill it's an understandable choice.

When you think about living or not, if you honestly believe you do not want to live anymore. And if you after that kill yourself without harming any person around you or who will found you, you would be a brave one of a kind.

Usually people who say that haven't been through anything serious imo. So they put others down with that line to make themselves feel better. Some of us have illnesses that won't ever be cured and they just want the pain to stop.

Getting over SI is another thing. How can you take the easy way out when that's one of the hardest things you can do? There have been people who had N only to flush it. If it were that easy then why flush something so hard and expensive to get in the states?

And why so many others did it even through the gruesome way like decaptation by a train, or by even jumping !!!

Yes, but society makes it more difficult by making painless methods difficult to access. A society that does not treat humans as things should make suicide easy (because our lifes are not properties of society but belong to us).

It is really hard to truly put yourself in someone else's shoes.

Like for me the one that got to me was Anthony Bourdain. This was a guy with the coolest job ever, lots of money, and he still couldn't fight off the depression.

We just don't know what's truly going on in other people's heads or bodies.

Depends. Winds of Change can blow both bad and good.

Heck if the many worlds theory is true, they will blow both ways. Also, there will always be a version of yourself that survives every attempt.

Right? I think it's messed up that pets have a way easier time receiving euthanasia than humans. I was always so jealous of my pets growing up.

If "easy way out" is what you call choosing when you want, and how you want to commit to the inevitable rather than suffering decades of pain, then yeah it's the easy way out.

Even if it is I don't see how it would be an issue. So what if you choose the easy way out?
There's so much talk about easy/tough and weak/strong when talking about mental health in Western society it makes me sick to my stomach. My problems and the ways I choose to deal with them are my own, and I refuse to own up to any societal rhetoric labelling me as either strong or weak. It reduces complex issues into some stupid black-white way of thinking because it's easy to understand.

Not in my opinion. If death was easy, why do people scream/panic when they are facing death..(car crash...cancer...etc)?

Life is tougher on some others, too. So I guess it depends on what one considers "easy" . Honestly, I don't think suicide is about ease at all..

It's more about comfort level -- whether that be emotional or physical. People quit school, get divorced, and switch jobs all the time..and nobody badges them about being "cowards" or taking an easier route.

They just make a big deal about death because they are scared or cannot fathom your mindset because death is mindboggling to JoeJanes. They don't spend enough time considering THEY will HAVE to die someday ,too..until they have a close call.

Society makes a big deal out of everything. People who have reached the point of wanting to ctb are more nonchalant about lots of things society finds huge.

They are brainwashed by the hocus pocus the rulers spew at us...the baseless, apathetic and phony cliches about life...

That is not anyone's issue. Death is not the easy way and it sure ain't the way of a "coward". If anything, the suicidal are a little scared to die..or at least scared of the pain..

That's why certain methods are more favorable than others.

There is nothing easy about balancing my desire to die with the sense of obligation I have to stay alive for my family and dog. It nags at me every waking hour and I dream about it when I sleep.

maybe they panic and scream because death isnt/wasnt on their life plan. When its suddenly there as a potential with no warning or being prepared nature and natural reactions kick in. where as someone actively seeking to end their life would have a different viewpoint and may see death as a easy way out

Yes and so what? Why would I want a difficult solution?

Should a homelss man not kill himself because it's the "easy way out"? You could extend that pro-life logic to medication. People who get into car accidents shouldn't take painkillers/treament because it's the easy way out. They should just let their body heal naturally....

see how ridiculous that sounds.

Yes, and that's exactly why I want it.

The 'easy way' is a notoriously underrated thing. The majority of neurotypical society needs to try it sometime. Just like the 'comfort zone'. I find being comfortable to be vastly preferable to being uncomfortable. Just like I find the 'easy way' to be undeniably better than the 'hard way' for my personal well-being. I feel that the advantages of being comfortable and having an easy life do not get enough credit. I have experienced flashes of this kind of life, while visiting the houses of rich acquaintances, and I find it to be vastly superior to the struggle of my normal existence.
