Depends on the person answering and the reason behind the suicide. Some will be alright with it no matter what others will thinks it's wrong no matter what. Than there are some people inbetween like they agree when you're terminally ill.

The only bad thing is that I am leaving my parents and dog. If I didn't have family, suicide would be so quick and simple

Simpler for you then. And as cruel as it sound, I feel a bit more guilt towards my dog than my parents

I have guilt but my existential suffering on a daily basis overpowers it by a huge amount. I lost my job today and I feel like shit.

I don't think the main question is if it is 'bad'. The main question is, do you want to or can you see a way out? If in doubt, don't hurry and give it a go.

I don't see it as bad in any way. Some people just aren't made to live.

Bad? Life is a way of choices, and suicide is just another choice you make. It's not good or bad, it just is. Only after you attach emotion and feeling to the choice you make, can you deem it good or bad. Those who cherish life see it as bad, and those who understand life's struggles will see it as something other than bad. Depending on your circumstances and your life, it's really up to you whether you see it as bad or something else.

It can be either good or bad, but I think it should always be a last resort no matter what.

Hey, at least worse case scenario, your dog gets euthanasia and dies peacefully.

Is it bad?

Bad for what goal? People go on and on about how terrible death is, even though we do not know what cousiouness, life and death are. Before I wasn't born I wasn't here for at least billions of years and it did not bother me at all. If death is really this terrible thing we are all screwed, we are going to be dead for so much longer than we are alive than it's meaningless in comparison. However, people being so against death is primarily a emotional reaction based on factors like stigma, comparing the pain of losing a loved one to death itself.

According to our society's general moral standards, yes it is. And everything that has to do with death is immediatly frowned upon.
Now casting aside the "vox populis" or the prevalecent opinions of the majorities of people, it comes down to each person's conscience and subjective thinking.
In my case for example, i think that it isn't a bad thing, considering how hopeless and how depressed i am and will ever be.
Some cultures actually regard suicide as an honorable act. Think on the Asian cultures that actually saw suicide as a way to reddem themselves of failure and were praised by those alive as for being courageous and self aware of their errors.

I don't view suicide as good or bad.

But I sure feel enduring such an enormous amount of suffering that your coping mechanisms and the ingrained urge to live are overloaded to such an extent that you want to die... this is truly a bad, bad, bad thing.

So very well put! People always forget the absolute nothingness of before, and do not stop to think "Hmm, well, the after will probably be the same, so I have nothing to worry about." Not to mention also comparing it to the timeless voids of dreamless sleep and undergoing anesthesia.

I like this quote by Nabakov: "The cradle rocks above an abyss, and common sense tells us that our existence is but a brief crack of light between two eternities of darkness."
