I need a long term distraction. I can only rewatch Monster so many times.

I don't think it's going to be your cup of tea... the anime's pacing is shit but other than that if you like adventure and battle shounen it's pretty alright to good? Have you watched HxH 2011? That's like 100+ Eps and maybe more something you'd be into if you get past the very first few episodes.

I have never seen it, but some manga are just better than their anime counterparts, and One Piece might be one of them. Overall, it looks interesting. I would give it a try.

Maybe follow sports, there is always something new taking place.

I don't think you can go wrong with one piece. I have yet to read a bad review about it.

More like One Piece of Shit am I right?

The art style just doesn't appeal to me but I hear the manga gets really good in like 400 chapters.

I'll watch HxH. I hated the first episode though. Childish

I could never get into sports. I liked playing them but watching it is boring.

Yeah I heard "just stick with it. The first several hundred episodes are shit"

I could never get into it, neither the anime nor the manga. I think it handles it's secondary characters better than 99% of long running shonen anime and the world is very full (I don't know if I'd say good, but it's VERY full) but the pacing is terrible and the story is surprisingly simplistic and formulaic when you actually get down to it. I get that that can be appealing but when everything seems to drag and then the next arc starts to feel samey, it just isn't my thing.

Probably would have ate it up when I was a kid though.

Roommates kids are currently on the anime Dr. Stone, not too bad from what I've seen.

Dragonball super manga is not better than the show.
But you did both, right? Were there not parts of the manga worth reading for?

I stand by my statement, I think most mangas are better than the anime counterparts, but its nice to have both. Some things are done better in one than the other and vice versa.

I dabbled in the manga. I'm gonna read it because I want to know what happens after the universe tournament

I'm gonna hazard a guess and say Goku puts his palms together and fires a laser of some sort.

I liked that one. Show them Hell Girl lol

Googles what "Hell Girl" show is all about...

Yeah gonna have to pass on that suggestion, ya know, childhood innocence and not warping their minds and so on and so on.

My favorite is Berserk manga and anime. I have not watched Monster yet. Still too depressed.
Watch the anime and then read the manga. Should take you a while... maybe, though if you have addictive personality probably not lol.
I enjoy reading Jojo too though it gets monotonous at times and I had to move on to other things.

One of the dumbest animes of all time. I think this is the secret of its longevity. Why produce something intricate and meaningful, which takes time and is not always appreciated when you can just shit out episode after episode of the lowest common denominator?

And don't forget to have oversized breasts. Mix stupidity, sex and the basic theme of underdog that has the unrealistic but endearing aim to become hot shit and you're all set.

What constitutes as childish for you? Themes or grittyness?
If it's the first then (and considering you managed to get through DB Super) then just stick with it, I can assure you it strikes plenty more mature notes through the story, though it's still a battle manga at it's core.
If it's the second, then it also does get a lot bloodier and darker at certain points, if you don't mind some moderate spoilers (not much narrative relevance but shock value I suppose) you could youtube "Uvogin vs shadow beasts" for some motivation lol.

Where they act like goofy children. First episode of one piece and hxh were annoying.

Yu Yu hakusho doesn't do that. The only one in Dragonball who did that was Gohan as a kid.
