Most people would (irrationally) claim yes due to their indoctrination by society, government, and even their own family, peers, and people around them. However, I'd say it's a very subjective value call for each individual as each person's own personal circumstances and lives are different (and they respond to the environment and the events in their lives differently). Objectively speaking though, life itself is meaningless and only has arbitrary value because we (humans) assign value to it (religion, personal value, and the collective - society and government). As far as the universe is concerned, we are just organisms that transfer energy and processes and nothing more, nothing less.
