Is it medically possible? Or, something people made up in this forum.

Like, medically speaking, the position of carotid artery being behind the muscle or something like that?

Can everyone die from partial hanging?

According to a paper I read, for some people pressure to compress the arteries is as high as 30 kg..that would crush the trachea as well..is it accurate?

I have always wondered this as well. I can never seem to get myself to pass out even after closing off my trachea so I can't breath.

I tried carotid compression (partial suspension), obviously it failed, but I was left with lots of small red dots on my face where the tiny capillaries had burst due to the increase in pressure. Luckily the red dots cleared up after a couple of days.

I did a test run with a thin cable using both hands, i.e. self strangulation, with some success. However, when it came to my actual attempt using a door knob for the suspension, I failed multiple times.

Carotid compression is covered in the March 2019 edition of the PPeH. There is a whole chapter dedicated to it. Its referred to as the "Korean Method". It talks about how to avoid placing preasure on the trachea.

The PPeH is available in the resources section.

I would not recommend this method.

I've been wondering this for some time as well. Partial suspension has never worked for me (so far), and as I have somewhat pronounced sternocleidomastoid muscles, I wonder if this may have an impact on the efficacy of the partial suspension method.

You can visit this thread, it has got a lot of info about partial hanging. Personally, I don't see hanging as an effective or pleasant way to go, so I'm not even trying to do it.
