Is dying by hanging a painful method? I am not talking by partial hanging or anything fancy! Just putting rope over a fan and then standing on a table or chair and then kicking the chair off so that you noose of rope tightens around your neck and your feet are suspended freely in air.

Is this type of hanging painful? Is there a risk of breaking spinal cord or anything else which leads to pain before you get unconscious?

Kindly let me know!

A fan probably won't take your weight.

Yes it can be particularly unpleasant. Partial is a much better way to go if you can. A lot of people end up in wheelchairs after attempting hanging

i think that depending on the how high are you in the air when you drop yourself you can get to break your neck

Hanging is a long and painful way to die. It might be easy to carry out but it is not ideal. I recommend having an instant death if you really want to CTB.

As someone who has attempted that exact method, fan and all, I can confirm that the fan will likely not support your weight. I was 102lbs at the time and the fan had something like 8 reinforcing screws in it... I didn't even consider that its the ceiling that would give and come down with it, along with the wiring and whatever else felt like it.

So there I was, sitting in my parents' place, hyperventilating and shaking as I was frantically trying to undo the rope around my neck while leashed to a what must have been half my weight of concrete, wiring, and metal, trying to think of a way I could explain the ceiling fan coming down and hoping to all shit that my siblings had the music loud enough downstairs to not be alerted by the sound and find me in that state. I'll spare you the details of how the aftermath went, but let's just say it reinforced some of my estimations on how little love there was to go around in this family, and I had to wear a scarf or turtleneck for three weeks that august-september to cover the bruising.

Final verdict; 0/10, would not recommend.

Hanging (or at least partial-hanging) isn't supposed to be too painful if done correctly... But doing the method correctly is an incredibly difficult thing to pull off. You have to be very knowledgeable on how to tie a noose around your neck (it needs to tie around the right part of your neck otherwise it'll be a very painful and unpleasant experience), along with properly judging the distance of suspension and the strength of whatever it is you're hanging from and using to hang yourself.

I think it's tied with drug overdose for the most failed attempts I've seen.

What ways do you suggest for having instant death. I am very serious about ctb!

Well there are many threads here about the different methods. I can't really help you because I don't know your situation on how to achieve the required materials. Sometimes the instant methods are painful and sometimes ots not. I suggest checking those out.

it seems like every method available to the average person is and will be painful. sometimes even assisted suicide is painful. i've been trying to figure out how to combine methods in hopes that it will decrease the pain and increase the lethality.

I've watched a few hanging videos now and it seems the process is quite quick, yes there is struggle but it doesn't last for more than 5 minutes. Some people even become unconscious in the first minute. For completeness I would allow a good 45 minutes of uninterrupted time. It's definitely something I'm considering, since I don't need any meds and can do it anytime. All I need is a rope!

Coming from experience, I wouldn't recommend it. It's not reliable, and your natural survival instincts will kick in even if you genuinely want to die. It's also not painless; once you feel the pounding, unbearable pressure in your face and head then you'll realize maybe you didn't think this method thru enough. The reality is most of us don't have a high enough place and logistics to do a neck-break hanging which apparently is painless. But yeah, don't do it lol 0/10 do not recommend.

Definitely a celling fan isn't a reliable anchor point, regardless of your weight.
It's better a staircase railing , or a roof beam, or a tree branch.
If you're are afraid of pain, this method isn't for you. The main goal is to accept the struggle, hope that unconsciousness comes quickly and no one discovers you before the ideal timeframe of 20 minutes.

I am considering hanging but I don't feel partial could seriously give me what I want. But I tried full hanging At least twice but I couldn't endure the pain. Someone told me he planned to take propanol(i think it is blood pressure pill )overdose while the rope is still around his neck then pass out and hang while he is unconscious so he wouldn't feel the pain. Luckily it worked for him I haven't heard from him since. What do you think about this method I am now searching a good pill that knock me out quickly before hanging.

i flirted with both full and partial hanging and it was all a complete disaster hence me looking into SN now

with full hanging i just could not bring myself to take the final 'step', mainly because i knew there was no guarantee that i would pass out fast, but instead could end up struggling for minutes swinging around like a loony, and even then who knows if i would ever pass out

then i tried partial hanging but could not get that to work either (could never reach the 'passing out' stage)

all that said i may try to go back to partial hanging if i cant source any SN

What do you mean if i pass out? Is there a possibility you swing there and not fall unconcious?

I've been looking into it after my failed SN attempt. I got myself a strong rope from Amazon and found a tree where I will do it, but I never knew how to place the noose around my neck. Thankfully there was a very smart philosophy major guy in the main hanging thread who was very knowledgeable about the subject. With his help I found the main two veins in my neck. I tried pressing against them to see what would happen. In a matter of seconds I got very very dizzy and I started feeling tingles in my arms and face. If I would press for a bit longer I would 100% knock myself out. Now I'm trying to experiment with partial hanging to practice getting the noose right at that sweet spot. If one achieves that, hanging is probably the best method there is.

For full suspension i read that the rope should be placed right under the jaw as high as possible on the neck because it will go up by the force no matter what and cause discomfort and always with the knot at the back .
How to find this arteries and place the rope on them when the rope will go up no matter what?
I have full suspension as my plan now but want to know how to make it a successful and no pain experience
