For those who might want to make their passing look like it was due to natural causes, don't try Imodium (aka Loperamide).

Imodium promises heart failure, but by the time you get to the heart failure stage you will go through hell for a long period of time.

Kidney problems, agonizing urine retention - all sorts of fun stuff before you get to the pain of heart failure.

Bad method. Please do not try.

That sounds so horrifying. Thank you for sharing as none of us should ever have to suffer like that.

I think you're confusing meds...Unisom is a sleep aid, Loperamide is an anti-diarrheal.

Apparently if you have enough it gives a kind of high? But I think it has to be like a LOT

Don't worry, I've never been tempted to use it for anything except its therapeutic indication!
Good, I'm glad to hear that. *hug*

I'm still waiting to see if my kidneys are going to recover.

Just and FYI, Imodium is an opiate that only works in the intestines and I know this because I take 100mg every morning since 1997, I was an over the road truck driver and bathrooms aren't readily available so I had to do what I had to do, Doctors have tried to find the problem for over 25 years and haven't had any success. And yes I go every morning. There's no high, just no belly pain and allows me to get through the day. So just to fit my sense of humor" I get through the day without feeling 💩💩💩💩💩💩

I'm sorry that you have this problem but (no pun intended) I'm that Imodium helps you.

I have Crohns and I hear you about no readily available bathrooms. I take a prescription called Questran for that same reason.

They haven't found a medication or treatment that works in over 25 years so for now I'll stick to the Imodium.
