I personally think that a first is better, since it is much faster. Also, adrenaline rush could make it far not as painful as it might seem.

Getting eaten is one of the most primal fears a human being can have while starvation can be one of the most painful experiences many humans throughout history have had to face. Despite this, I'm still not too comfortable with either option.

Honestly tho if I get to pick said predator I'd go that path.
