Suicide is considered taboo because it directly exemplifies society's inability and incompetence to support all kind of lives. It reminds the world that it can be so unfair and cruel that a person might end their own life because they didn't have another option "in this world full of supposed numerous opportunities" it's a direct validation of the fact that their life was so painful that they'd rather kill themselves. it exposes society for what it actually is and threatens to show people the real nature of it.
