Been in therapy off and on for close to a decade. DBT and CBT barely got me anywhere. I've been having a bit of success with IFS, but I honestly don't agree with my therapist that parts are lonely because I need to connect with them, not because I interact with 0 people some days. I think that I truly won't ever get better until I start forming some healthy, long-lasting relationships. This isn't a loneliness that can go away by just visualizing hugging my inner child. It stays with me until I have a meaningful interaction with someone. I feel like I'm being gaslit a bit by her lmfao

I don't agree entirely either.

I think it's partly true, to connect and recognize those parts will make a difference. It's mostly that humans are social and it's healthy to want to connect with others, not just address your inner world.
