Discussion if you could take just one item to your grave, what would it be?

mostly an excuse to share pics of my flying fish plush♡ i love him so much, ill hold onto him when im dying and i hope i get buried/cremated with him haha

the only thing that comes to mind is a gift that someone i care a lot for bought me. i remember i kept it preserved in the box for like a month or two bc it felt very special. i still even have the box it came in just bc they touched it…

now that i think of it, i have no attachment to my belongings except this one. this was an easy question for me to answer. even though i love it so much, its not even really the gift itself, just who its from. its displayed in my room and i look at it everyday.

i totally understand, honestly as much as i just love the fish itself, its actually the first present my bf bought me after we started dating. its a reminder that even for a moment, someone cared... gifts like that, theyre precious.

I love the idea of it. Kind of like the Ancient Egyptians would be burried with all sorts of artefacts laden with symbolism.

I can't say I have huge attachment to many objects. Maybe some tools. I suppose symbolism wise, it would be nice to go with a lock of my mothers hair. She's already been dead for over 40 years but, it would be nice to be united symbolically I suppose.

Although really- I won't be going in for any fancy funeral rites. It's very likely I will arrange for a direct cremation so, for me, it probably doesn't hold much significance. I still love the idea though.
