Depends on how close you are to them I suppose. It's most likely to not cause any lasting trauma, just like any other death. It does make me wonder how their parents would explain a suicide to them, though.

sadly, a child's brain can turn anything into a long lasting traumatic event. My guess on how traumatic it would be would depend on if you ctb in the same house as them/they find you afterwards. I would say it would be less traumatic if they were just informed of it afterward.

Yes, there's a big chance they'll be traumatized.
I couldn't CTB if I had children and I'm really concerned about not my cousins but my nephew. He just loves me because I'm the "cool freak uncle" and I wouldn't want to hurt him!

Traumatized the fuck out of me that's for sure, but I have children, and here I am.

Life is a form of trauma. Noone gets out of here without experiencing suffering. Topic has been discussed in other threads : Many contributing factors play a role in a parents' CTB and few of these are scrutinized / judged as 'traumatic'
Whether it's a job loss, divorce, unfavorable treatment in court, grief from separation from kids, grief from loss of house, etc these things play a role in CTB of a parent and trauma to minor children should be minimized...
I presume in my case the cunt they call their mother will lie about the cause of death and it will not be discussed until they are much older.
