If suicide were easy, there would be a fuck of a lot more than one million out of 7 billion every year doing it. Thats 1 out of every 7000 people. The number that actually wishes they were dead is exponentially higher, and the methods available are barbaric, because society does everything they can to keep bots productive to the economy. The problem is that we are nothing more than programmed robots, and the survival instinct is built in to the program, so it's an extremely rare thing to overcome. Our survival instinct is fucking insane.
The "They can kill themselves if they want to" crowd are fucktards who haven't put any real thought into what they are or what reality they're living in. The typical brainwashed nimrod who can't see outside themselves, no sense of empathy.
Sure. We could access some means, but it would take a LOT of work (not guaranteed), and none of the available methods are totally effective or painless. There are effective AND painless means which are presently illegal and inaccessible. The only logical reason I can come up with is that society can't afford to lose the amount of people/productivity/slaves it would lose if it were to legalize access to effective lethal means. I theorize that if society were to legalize access to quick/painless suicide, we would QUICKLY need to adjust how we treat people, and address issues around equality ASAP to stop people from opting out. Which is exactly why we won't. Because as it stands, we can keep a certain percentage of the population living in miserable servitude and they can't do anything about it.
