i've heard the number 150 feet being thrown around here and there? iirc i think its 95% fatal at 150 feet. not sure how many stories that is, though.

46 metres is 95-98% fatal. Add another 30 for water.

I would not advise it....someone has to be in that 2-5% that fail, and it ain't gonna be pretty.

It's better going for a way you don't end up a few arms and legs short if you happen to get unlucky. Hope you don't have to do it and if you do I hope for a different way. But hey, if you absolutely must and nobody can dissuade you this is the kind of height.

It's always better to fall from a bigger height than a smaller. Bigger heights give a bigger impact and gives much less time to suffer and less of a chance to survive. Though something like knowing that there's no going back once you make that leap seems like a scary thought.

Also, the surface is important.

To sum up, the higher, the better, the harder the surface, the better. Aiming for at least 99 % probability is the best.

Landing on concrete is a NYC specialty and all succeed--should be at least 10 stories

It depends on how you fall, even a 2 story building could possibly be fatal. But I'd say falling from the 4th story would almost always be fatal.

Jumping is very common in korea and some people still survive often even from jumping from 16th story apartment ( yes very common height in korea) because they somewhat caught tree while falling or fell in truck or car etc….or some People fall wrongly and break legs etc or just be disabled horribly( paralysis). But i havent heard anyone surviving from more than 20 story buidings yet so i would say def higher than 20 story building

I would not try this unless you have a very tall building to jump of, and by that I mean 15, 20 stories tall. and make sure you are gonna fall into the rough cement floor and not on cars or anything like that.

Imo you'd want to hit a landmark building which nobody has survived from. 95%-98% chance is too low for me, I'd want 99%+. Make sure you land on concrete and go head first. Get extremely drunk beforehand for confidence. Maybe book a room in the highest hotel you can find. Jumping is also my preferred option but the 95% thing scares me. Basically you want to get closest to terminal velocity as you can (which is 120mph and takes 12 seconds of fall time / 450 metres, but it's hard to find buildings that high).

why are people in korea so depressed? is it because of over working?

I don't know. Korea has highest suicide rate always. Even in usa, korean american has highest suicide rates among other minorities. I think the society is very competitive, and It is conformist country. Also theres stigma to depression or seeking mental health help. But every suicidal or People who committed suicides are depressed though. There are many suicides involving honor? ( similar to japan) so if People think they let down their family or loved ones or if they feel too ashamed they still ctb even if not necessarily depressed. It is cultural i guess. Cyber bullying is rampant too and many celebrities do also ctb even if they r so beautiful and have 300-500
Millions. Dont matter….
Hanging and jumping infront train and jumping from tall building ( i say it again at least 20 story) is most common. I am appalled to read here many say 4-5 story building no way!!!!!
There r quite abit of People who still survive from 16th story if they fell in soft ground or grass too in awkward position. Please dont give wrong information. Those People who survive end up with severe disability and they cannot even ctb voluntatily ( break their neck etc and completely paralyzed and get worse off)

I say again. At least 20 story building. At least. I cannot guarantee. So 30 story building is safe bet.
Never ever jump from 4-5 story building. Never
