i heard anthony buardaine used a door knob, or maybe it was someone else.
but yeah, most door knobs you can't really hook a rope onto, because they are not the round, ball door knob.
they are the normal ones where if you try to hang something from them, they move down and the knot falls off.

so if you were forced (forced by yourself) then how would you use such a door knob?
duct tape to make sure the rope doesn't slip?

If not the doorknob, rope could be hung over the top of the door and held in place by shutting the door. With a knot or something of course,so the rope doesn't just slide out.

exactly.
i've even heard of people using the lock as an anchor point.
you know, because you can see the lock thru the crack of the door
