Ideas on how to do short suspension correctly?

I might choose this method and use slip knots. Do I close the door after I tie the knot on the doorknob and I toss the rope over the door? Or do I leave it open?

Anyone try this method? Any advice?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the door should be closed to prevent movement of the rope and door while trying to achieve peace
