Technically there are rehabs for benzo addiction which is a psych med but I mean any and all psychiatric medications. Alternative To Meds Center is the only one I could find and it is a whopping 60k I believe for a month. I know Outro Health exists but it's not available in my state. They provide tapering schedules and liquid tapering but not inpatient. I'm having to purchase a litany of supplements and medications just to prepare me for the withdrawal of one psychiatric medication, Seroquel, that is notoriously hard to get off of. We need better resources for tapering off mental health medications that isn't just "cut your dose in half for a week and go off". Criminal drug companies get away with telling psychiatrists that their drugs are harmless and have minimal withdrawal which is bullshit. Same shit as the opioid crisis telling doctors it wouldn't hurt their patients but somehow when it applies to psych meds, it's ok. Having a supportive home-like place to go where you could be medically supervised while tapering off these drugs would be a godsend.

I feel your pain. I'm in the UK and there's no help getting off this stuff - they have fried my brain. There's also very little understanding of the damage these drugs actually do and how long withdrawals can take.

I was so excited when I heard about Outro Health and then all my hope was crushed when I realized they don't even operate in my state. It could be coming soon but I can't wait. Gonna have to brave this on my own like most of us have to do. I'm hoping my doctor will work with me a bit more and understand my concerns. As someone who has used shrooms microdoses in the past, they really really need to be used for treating depression in modern psychiatry and approved as a medicine for major depressive like ketamine is.

Yeah the guy Mark H who runs Outro health (or is involved) is UK based. He runs a clinic here in the UK on the NHS but really strict criteria and I don't fit it. Benzo are horrendous to come off and I wouldn't want to be an inpatient here or in the USA with them as they pull you off them way to quick when really it's a very slow (a brutal) taper.

Dr's are great at dishing out these meds but clueless at getting people off them. Nightmare for so many people. I never understood the realities of how bad withdrawals could be....until I experienced it myself. But Dr's gaslight it terribly! So sad!
