I sometimes want to become incredibly ill, just so I can stay at home, I have no breaks through the week and I am busy all 7 days. I want to take a break I can't keep up with this!!

Does anyone else feel like this? Any methods that might get you a short break?

you shouldnt wish this, as someone who is physically disabled due to chronic illness. i would rather be able-bodied and busy 7 days throughout the week than bound to my house, sick as a dog every single day.

you may be suicidal, but please for the love of God do not take your health for granted.
good health is a privilege.

if i could, i'd give you my illness so you can see how fun and better it's to wake up every day with no purpose, knowing that it's getting worse by the second, and have absolutely no one to talk to. I have been wanting a "short break" for a long time.
you have no idea what you are wishing for.

Yeah tripling on the "don't fucking wish for illness" train; people still expect shit of you when you're sick and/or are just waiting for the second you aren't if it's temporary—if permanent, society discards you. Get some clarity.

Fake an illness. Nobody would be able to disprove that you had sudden jarring migraines. I also want illness, but of the terminal variety. Preferably fast-acting terminal. So that I have no say whether or not I go.

This whole thread is mental, do people not realise the consequences that come alongside having an illness? As someone with chronic migraines that impact my ability to function, it's not something you should wish for. People don't take pity on you because it's not a visible or terminal illness, you're expected to just take painkillers and move on even though migraines are far more complex than that.

Sure I get to stay at home more than the average person but it's incredibly painful. Can't get out of bed, can barely eat, constant throbbing in my head and nausea. Not to mention how easily they can get triggered. Even extreme temperatures can trigger my migraines.

If you want a break then take a break. But don't wish for someone else's suffering.

Also most people aren't good at faking illness. Especially migraines, they're something that can only be understood if you actually suffer with them imo

i'm sorry you have to go through that.
i think this thread is the prime example of how logically, ethically, and morally bankrupt this site can often be. there are lots of posts like this one; this is definitely not the first one.
i guess a suicide forum isn't the best place to look for etiquette. who would've known right?

Completely understandable to want a break because you are obviously doing too much but making out that something that ruins other people lives would be desirable to you is never going to get good reaction.

My life was upended when I developed ME/CFS and could not ride my motorbike anymore, could not work, and became dependent on goverment welfare and financial burden in relationships.

Then there is medical gaslighting and other people down playing illness because they are not educated.

Make changes to give yourself a break and please do not romanticise other people suffering. That is like when people who cannot get sex make comments like 'I wish that I could be raped' which is going to be massively triggering to people living with trauma.

I really do understand the feeling of wanting a break. However having a chronic illness is not something you want. I massively took my health for granted and now I'm dealing with constant fatigue and pain and nothing I do helps it. I'm only 24 and I have no life. I wish I could do everything I used to with no limitations🙏

I agree with you, I haven't been around long so this is my first time seeing something like this. I thought people would be more empathetic though especially because we're all suicidal/have been suicidal

I have an odd illness that likely ruined my life. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But I'd take op a step further. Wish I had a terminal illness. I know that's miserable but idc get me out of this world

I truly don't think the op intended their post to come across as insensitive. I used to have thoughts like this when I was very young but unless you've been through it you don't know what you're wishing for. You assume that you'll have an easy life because you get to stay home a lot when actually it's just very lonely and depressing. You assume that professionals will take you seriously when they often don't. And you assume that people will care about you more but sadly people just get on with their lives.

Some people here are suicidal for reasons like they and the people they love are systematically being killed off by capitalist governments and/or ethnostates. Others are here because they fail to get laid.
Peruse if you want to really be revolted.
