I think that I should try to live somewhere else, away from the past, in case that changes something. I just don't really know how to do so.

I wish I could just start over somewhere new. I don't have the finances or the drive to look for a new job! Trapped!

I'm wondering the same. Like where one can go and just be like hey, I want to try out your country, perhaps get permanent residency.
Why?
I'm depressed.
Wonder what country accepts that. I'll let you know if I find one.

As someone who has done just this 3 times i can say with confidence that you are going to follow you around and moving adds to your problems not detracts from them. Of the 3 times I did this only once was it better for me, and really that was just because i was doing to many drugs and when I moved i could not get them anymore, even the parts of your past than haunt you will follow you all you really leave behind is any friends you may have.

Whereabouts are u currently? How old are u? I moved because of the reasons u stated. My problems were not solved by moving, but it was helpful because there's more people here and more variety of things available. I didn't think I would have been able to come off Adderall in my home town because it's just depressing out there. I was haunted by the past too. That was one big reason I left. I didn't want to run into pple from my past who I let hurt me, I had a falling out with, or humiliated myself with lol! I was deeply ashamed of where I ended up in life and didn't want people to see me around.

Agreed. Country/rural living is beneficial for a new start and gives you time to get away from the sensory overload you get with city living and focus on your wellbeing, not to mention being surrounding by the beauty and splendor of nature.

@GoodLuck2UAll I've lived in the same place all my life, it's the kind of town where you can't go out without seeing someone you know and I have a lot of issues with... everyone I've met over the past few years. It would be such a relief to be somewhere with a little anonymity, where I wouldn't be reminded of the past all the time.

@Broken I don't think it would be easy for me either, I would have to find a room to rent and look for a job at the same time. I don't have experience or qualifications for a better than very low paid job and I don't really know if I could rent somewhere. I guess though, if I'm feeling like ctb all the time then what's the difference if I try something else and fail? I can still ctb.

@marcusuk63 Cornwall is very beautiful!

@VikingWinger Yeah I'd like to try living somewhere else.

@Onomotopoeia That's true, but I guess I want to reinvent myself a bit, meet people who haven't seen me at my worst.

@Final Escape I don't want to say specifically, I'm 22. I'm glad that it was helpful, at least! Yeah, a lot of people are aware of what's gone wrong in my life and I'm getting so bored of being regarded with a mix of pity, apprehension... I don't know, it's just that people have treated me very differently since being diagnosed bipolar/being hospitalised. I don't want people I meet in the future to know things like that, without understanding it and but they hear that and have a judgemental reaction.

@JadedGray Very true, I think I meant place more than city really, but it might have to be a city so I can find a job.

I went to Canada for a year, it does help trying to find a new home. For a time.
