I want to think of death as peaceful.
That decay is a slow process of giving one's body back to the earth.

One would think, if a person is so looking forward to it, it should be a peaceful moment, as life has been torture enough.

Find a method that you are comfortable with. Your view of the end should help.

Why not try cremation?
that's what i'm going to try to go for (if my wishes aren't disrespected), but cremation just doesn't seem the same to me.

Unfortunately, cremation is actually not good for plant life. (Source) Natural human decomposition would be the best way to return nutrients to the earth. Neil deGrasse Tyson has said something to this effect.

Edit: Found it!

Would you rather feed the worms or be dust in the wind.

If society would allow it I'd want to leave my corpse for dog food. Like wild animals or something so hopefully they get a taste for human flesh and kill some evil homosapien poachers / fun hunters etc.

In a way, after death we return back what was given to us by nature - Atom by atom.
Though, the pic reminds me a little of an eco graveyard I saw once.
Basically, urns in a forest, placed by each tree. Very meaningful!

I will choose cremation, but its mostly because it will cheaper for my family to get it send back to my country, as im living on my own in a different own. But i like the idea to have mu body dump in the forest to give back to nature.

In Tibet a normal "burial" is for the body to be taken to the mountains and chopped up so it's easier for animals to carry away. (To eat) Their whole society is traditionally without any kind of waste.

Approach a neutron star; annihilated before you can even get close. It might not be the most peaceful way to go though?
