My recovery is going really well.
I've begun feeling good about myself and I have a good group of friends around me, and furthermore I'm beginning a course in September.

Medication has helped a lot. Having real friends is marvellous.
I'm beginning to engage with life again.

Hurrah!

BUT...

I recognise that these thoughts may be a normal part of the recovery process, but I'm not willing to just continue living an uninteresting existence where I'm forever struggling to survive, for instance with money worries.

I'm in a position where I'm able to give this some time and see how things work out and I am truly thankful for that.
However, if life doesn't actually get any better after I allow reasonable time, I would rather it end.

I feel like this all the time as well. Recovery is a hard process that comes with relapses. It is often hard for me to want to get better because I know eventually I'll get worse. Sometimes life feels like it isn't worth the struggle. I'm glad that things are looking up for you. I hope that everything continues to go well in the future. Celebrate the little victories.

I think what we, as people who are feeling low, need to remember is that baby steps are still steps šŸ‘£
This is certainly something I've had to learn.

The problem I have at present is that while I am grateful that I have reached a place of emotional stability, I am unwilling to live a life in which I am constantly struggling.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not asking to be a billionaire or for any kind of grandiose vision to be fulfilled.
I would just like to enjoy a reasonably interesting life, where I'm not worrying about whether I'll be able to eat tomorrow, and during which I can make a positive contribution to society šŸ™‚

Just take it one day at a time; that's all you can do.

Brilliant username btw

Glad your recovery is moving along! Have to say, I'm jealous.

What do you attribute to your recovery most? The meds? I really need to get back to exercise, that always helps me a ton.

Enjoy it!

So I think it's important to bear in mind that recovery is a process and not an event.

Medication has helped me a lot. Having a good group of friends around me has helped no end too. Having positive things going on in my life is also a plus - you can make these things happen by, for example, taking a college course.
