I've heard that the term "sweet death" comes from hypothermia (obviously in later stages), and honestly, if it ever snows again like 2 years ago, I'm curious to see what happens if I just take tons of dial sleeping pills and just take a nap in the snow.

Plus, when it's cold like that there's no bugs and less wild animals to bother you outside. Peaceful

I've heard stories of people getting too drunk and passing out and freezing to death. that might not be half bad since the alcohol makes you feel hotter.

to have this as my last sight... it would be amazing. i think i would truly be at peace if i were to die in such an environment.

I live in an area of the US where it gets VERY cold in the winter, and I've been considering the hypothermia method for many years. As OP mentioned, the initial stages are uncomfortable but then...you just go numb and get sleepy. Luckily where I am there are also many wooded areas so if I did it that way (hypothermia) finding a beautiful, quiet spot in a forest on a clear night with a full big moon would be so lovely I think.

That is not an uncommon occurrence where I live, it usually happens at least a few times every winter...college students coming home from the bars or a party, or one of the homeless. With the bitter sub-zero temps that are part of winter here, I always wonder just how quickly (generally speaking) it happens because the temperature here will sometimes get -20 or -30 below and if there's wind as well... I just have always thought it would be a relatively peaceful way to leave this world once you're past that initial stage.

I doubt they suffer at all. They probably just sit or sec and pass out. They're not usually lost, so they either pass out or choose to stay where they are. If they were suffering they would show signs of trying to get away from where they are but usually they are just eerily there. If it snowed here I would try it.

I wonder if that method allows for organ donation? Probably not, seeing as (I think) there's only a small window of time your organs are good, huh? It's just a shame to me that most methods cancel out any organ donation since you don't want to risk being found too early and revived.
