Hi, I've done my research about the side effects and the pain of drinking bleach but I still want to go through with it. I know I will regret it and it will make my life more miserable but I have the strong urge to self harm and punish myself. I'm not even taking enough to die just to suffer, dying would be nice though.

I would appreciate any advice or any comments giving me reasons why I shouldn't do this.

Thank you!

To be blunt, it's kind of a waste of effort to give you reasons why you shouldn't drink bleach if you've already "done [your] research about the side effects and the pain of drinking bleach but ... still want to go through with it." You already know why you shouldn't do it.

(And for anyone else contemplating the idea of drinking bleach, all you have to do is put "what does drinking bleach feel like" into your nearest search engine. Short answer: it'll fuck you up.)

Forgot to mention the failed part...

And the video of the guy drinking bleach and throwing up blood but lived. (not sure if fake but seems real)

None the less... Do as you wish but i highly suggest you not to.

Can be failed and tbh just not worth the pain and inside damage if you succeed or fail.

Don't. I'm a registered nurse and I cover ICU. We get patients after suicide attempt all day long one of them survived bleach but he can't walk, his kidneys both failed on HD, his face and skin are creepy bleach caused some type of skin disease that have no cure and he is more depressed now. I mean I can see why he told me " why did you save me?" That's how bad he is

When I was in college a friend's 3 year old daughter accidentally drank some bleach that was in a cup on the counter. That poor baby. 😢😢😢 Please do not do this.

I understand wanting to SH and CTB but this is NOT the way to go. 😢

She was in the hospital a long time but when she came home she was basically an invalid and they didn't expect her to get better or live to see adulthood. Was a horribly sad deal. 😢

Working in the medical profession I've seen cases where people have drank bleach before. It completely sears away the esophagus all the way down to the stomach and boils away all the stomach lining until it Exposes all the soft tissue in your stomach and starts eating away at that. People are conscious for literally all of this and it's unbelievably excruciating.

It's not as immediately destructive as you would think it takes a long time to destroy your liver and essential organs. Even if you realize your mistake and call 911 you will have destroyed your ability to properly eat food potentially for the rest of your life.

I'm saying this as compassionate as I possibly can from one human being to another. Don't put yourself through any of this. No one deserves to suffer. Find another way if you're absolutely determined To catch the bus out of this existence.

I know someone who did that. What the knowledgeable people here are warning you about is the truth. Do not even think of doing that.

I used to do that thinking i would simply instant die of drinking bleach. But i just vomit most of it. And my housemate called ambulance. I was in hospital for few days and the doctor told me that i was lucky there was no significant damage to my digestion system. Otherwise it would be completely difficult and suffer to continue the rest of your life after bleach ingested. So please don't waste your time and energy into this.

Please use another method. Drinking bleach is extremely painful, and the risk of failure is very high.

I've got a gastric issue that's not even that serious from taking a high but "safe" amount of aspirin. (Not an OD.) It's ongoing and miserable. Trust me, you do not want to do anything that's going to fuck up your insides. 100% do not recommend.

@badtothebone Have you seen any/many sodium nitrite (SN) cases in the ICU? If so, can you comment on them?

Don't be short-sighted. Always think about the long-term. If you want to die then go through with it. But don't take stupid decision when you are emotional.

We never had any here on my time! Most of the cases overdose on Tylenol, Benadryl or oxy. We get cases from fentanyl , meth and Enzo the majority brain dead within few hours. Also from drinking bleach or other household cleaners. We know sodium nitrite we actually carry them here in our pharmacy to reverse poison cases…We get gunshot but they normally dead already. I live in Florida by the way

We also get a lot of cases alcohol with benzo… they survive

Have you ever seen a baclofen overdose. I also work in healthcare but have never had a baclofen overdose and I've been reading up on medical journals with inconsistent results. From what I can see it's pretty likely you'll survive after 24-72 hours in a near brain death state before returning to normal with timely medical intervention but am struggling to find cases of what happens without intervention. With the CNS depression I'd assume that an overdose >200mg would be pretty likely to cause death via respiratory failure/arrest without prompt treatment but there is honestly a surprisingly low amount of literature on it.

I feel like cyclobenzaprine would be worse but I don't know the studies . I have chronic muscle pain and baclofen does nothing while cyclobenzaprine (flexeril) essentially knocks me out

Hey! Yes we had some cases with Baclofen overdose we had a teen who actually had seizures prior to his admission but he was treated and we sent him to rehab. I believe it can be life threatening too it depends on the amount and how long you're being taking it
