• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I'm an atheist, so I strongly believe that "hell" isn't some afterlife punishment. It's here, in the world we live in. The way hell is described in religious texts feels like a reflection of human suffering. I've felt it myself, like, waking up and instantly wishing I hadn't, feeling stuck in a cycle that just won't let up. Life can be brutal, cruel, and inescapable, and that's what hell really is to me.

I truly hope there isn't a God so, I don't really believe in heaven or hell.

I've experienced extreme amounts of physical pain during gallstone attacks and a stone in the bile duct. I've experienced deep grief over losing loved ones. I've exerienced pretty much horror growing up with a (suspected) narcissist. So, I've encountered unpleasant things and periods in life.

Is it the very worst things a human can endure? Probably not. Were they deserved punishments for some indiscretion of mine? I hope not. So no- I don't believe in hell as a morally punishing tool on earth.

I just think we happen to have evolved into sentient beings. That our bodies need to tell us when something is wrong with them. The more serious the problem, the more likely it will hurt so much that we are forced to do something about it. Perhaps that goes for mental illness too except, it's maybe sometimes less clear what to do to heal that.

Maybe we evolved to experience grief over loved ones dying so that we try to keep them alive. As to bullying, maybe that's just a mirror of the bullying that goes on in nature. Creatures simply trying to assert their dominance.

I think there are logical reasons for a lot of the suffering we experience. I'd hope it wasn't inflicted out of mallice by some angry (unreasonable) God. That seems so much worse than it just being down to a bunch of unconscious systems (to me) that just happened to evolve this way.

The part that is less logical to me is why would-be parents think it's fair to inflict the bad along with the good on their children. That was a choice rather than chance.

But, as to whether this place is as bad as we imagine hell to be. For some people, I'm sure it is. For me? I wouldn't like to say really. I can always envisage things getting worse!

I ve had an interesting thought once. If hell is how it is conservatively described as a firery hot place where you get tortured constantly for eternity would it be actually be that effective in its torture in the long run as experiencing the same pain over and over forever will dull you out, wouldnt a hell be a lot more effective if it lets you experince fleeting joys of health and youth just to take it away from you, let you experince maternal love or care from other people just to take that away from you by them breaking up or expernce them dying before you, etc. Or you never get to experince any of the good things but see everyone around you getting love/care/etc. Just the variety of torture is keeping the pain fresh and always evolving, the combinations of physical and emotional pain, loss, failure, envy, etc makes up for a pain-bouquet that pales in comparison to the classical fire-burning-torture hell, so yes, it is possible that this is hell, maybe it's a pre-hell that will make the actual hell where do get fire-tortured more horrible as you got to expense a life without fire-torture.

Hell is this Earth and life.

There's nothing after Death. so Death is the escape from hell, the relief from suffering extremely

Either u look in a microscope and see an individual human brain cell is exactly the same as a fly, mouse , or human brain cell or it isn't . But it is.

What % of people know that and that u are 30 trillion human cells , 86 billion brain cells, each cell a copy of that first cell?

Do each of the octillion of the microorganisms and animals also go to afterlife? No

I have as I've been unfortunate enough to exist, to me existence is the most hellish abomination that causes endless amounts of cruelty and suffering all for the sake of it until non-existence takes away all anyway, it's all just so terrible and torturous to me and I'd just never wish for any of this no matter what, I see it as the most cruel burden to be forced into this horrific reality even know there was never a need for existence at all capable of suffering to unlimited amounts. Existence to me really does just feel like a mistake and as long as I exist I'll only hope and wish to not exist, I'll only be at peace once I no longer exist, I just want to never suffer ever again, permanent non-existence truly is always preferable for me than suffering all for the sake of it in this existence with no limit as to how much agony one can feel just to be tortured by old age and die anyway, existence itself to me is the problem as after all it's the source of all suffering.

@cait_sith & @pthnrdnojvsc - very interesting thoughts indeed.
While I don't think my personal hell is worse than anyone else's hell, I also believe that this life on Earth may very well be hell.
Then, so many people would say that to them this is not hell, but the happiest place to be...

Enslaved in hell
Earth is a prison and we are enslaved to our bodies. We have to deal with whatever happens to our body, we are dependent on water and food. We have to make money otherwise we will die, which most people have to work for (slavery). We need money if we get sick. We need money for every single thing. Money requires a lot of effort and mental energy. Life is constantly stressful. Once we are born, we are condemned to a life of slavery. If we do so happen to obtain wealth, we are still condemned to other forms of slavery from mental illness, physical illness and everything else. This entire existence is truly fucked up and the more you are aware of it, the more fucked it is. Life is like one of those pictures that look scarier the longer you stare at it. Stare too long and you will get traumatized. Earth is a nightmare and I genuinely believe that Earth is what "Hell" is in religion. I actually think this is Hell, there's no way it is anything else. Anyone who is natalist and disagrees lives in ignorance and they are fortunate to be ignorant. Nothing in this life holds any value, from life forms to materials. Everything is fleeting and will get destroyed. Life is a cruel joke to any being that is born. It is a kidnapping into a concentration camp. There is no justice for anyone and your fucked if you get the "short end of the stick" in life, you will see no justice for your suffering and will be condemned to a whole life of coping with your reality until the day you die.

Hey. Sent you a DM - hope that's ok. You really oded on Benadryl to the point of flatlining. I'm 69, MH fucked up big time - just to myself like depression, anxiety, endless panic attacks all don't respond to treatments but getting way worse as I age. Anyway the Benadryl thing caught my attention-it's one OTC thing that if I take the right amount makes me feel almost ok for a little while. But I've researched it as a method to really od and your the first I've seen whose said it sorta worked. I don't wanna bug you but can you tell me how you know you flatlined and what brought you back.

And yes, to me this existence is at least a version of hell. Oh, if you really are an angel of death can you tap me either when I'm sleeping so I don't wake up or just quickly put me into a permanent sleep. If you did it probably ly would go unnoticed so I'll appreciate you ahead of time. (-:

Well, yes, when my "parents" dumped me on a street curb the day after my 18th birthday with a bag of my clothes and no money, no food, no shelter, no nothing and drove away and never heard from them again 100% their choice.

Also, when I caught my ex cheating on me, money wise, she was a slot jockey and blew through tens of thousands of dollars (USD).

I do NOT believe in organized religion, as o me it is all about money, BUT I do believe in a heaven and hell.

I say my nightly prayers when I retire at night, and it brings me comfort to close out the day with.

Faith has helped me a lot.

Now everyone has their own ideas and opinions which is great, as that is what makes us a community.

to me it is. worst thing is that suffering is not distributed equally. some people are in utter hell, while some others have a good time and rarely experience any hardships in life at all

You're parents were awful to do that to you. I've got an 18 year old son, could never do that to him.

it depends on what sorta hell are you talking about

if its in a biblical sense, then i suppose we're meant to stay here for all eternity, which when you think about it, its quite ironic

since the only way for that to happen would be by reincarnation, something thats not in the bible

*shrugs*

who knows, perhaps this *is* indeed hell, n perhaps we'll keep coming back again n again, eternaly bound by this

afterall, we didnt ask to be here... thats a pretty bad sign, yeah

yikes
