I cannot stand it when people say things like "I'm so proud of you for suffering this long" acting like suffering is an achievement and it's something admirable. In general I just hate any of that pro-life motivational toxic positivity, it comes across as so delusional and brainwashed to me how many people worship suffering so much.
I will always see all suffering as completely meaningless and unnecessary, there's nothing admirable about suffering, there's nothing to be gained by it, it's just futile and worthless as well.

I find it tragic how people were forced into this hellish and cruel existence in the first place and have to suffer so senselessly. I don't get those who see existence as so valuable and desirable as existence is nothing more than a horrific mistake, it would have been better if life never existed at all.

Only the permanent relief from all suffering appeals to me, I will always see it as better to cease existing to escape from this cruel and pointless existence that only ever caused harm. I only admire those who managed to free themselves on their own terms as they are now at peace, free from the burden that is existence.

I often see someone say that he has suffered and has won what he has been through difficulties. These same people judge, lower and humiliate those who have won things without having to suffer or just not wanting to pass some basic need.
I don't think it right to praise a person just for going through difficulties, I think in a literal sentence it would be like this: "Look at this poor man, this being that nobody cared about and who still doesn't care, let's pretend that we connect to his life and give a false hope of comfort and affection."

I'll quote myself from a months old reddit thread about the romanticisation of suffering, i.e. statement like "suffering makes you stronger", and other crap like that:

"There is actually some truth to these statements, the problem is that they are heavily exaggerated, and viewed as a general rule when they aren't, as there is a huge amount of pain out there that has no redeeming purpose.

They also are misguided in identifying what is truly desirable, which is the reduction of greater pain in the future via the endurance of some of it in the present. What is good, in other words, is the elimination of pain, or gaining a greater benefit, not the initial "investment" in and of itself.

If I have to endure a bitter medicine to cure or prevent a sickness, that's clearly better than getting sick, but the real goal is not getting sick in the first place. If you could prevent an illness or cure it by snapping a finger, you would do it, because growth or being stronger are not good on their own, they are just means to an end (which is reducing suffering), not an end in themselves."

Basically, existence serves no redeeming purpose, suffering now in order to suffer less in the future has no value on its own. Struggling to reduce problems created by life, for no real profit, when the absence of life would eliminate those problems, does not make you a great person by default, nor does it give you points over someone who didn't have to struggle much. Nor does it constitute a reason to prohibit suicide, while telling others they must remain and struggle because you're fine with it.

In all honesty, life should be eliminated, but for the purpose of this forum, let's just say that exposing such "struggle porn" narratives as the garbage they are, while giving people the right to die, would already be good enough.

This reminds me of when others say that you are strong for 'overcoming suicidal thoughts'. When I'm not suicidal, I want to believe that's true. When I am suicidal though, which is most of the time, it just feels like they are saying I'm weak for trying to die. I wish others who don't have experience with this stuff would spend the effort to understand what it's like. But I do still have compassion for those without strong suicidal ideation and I do wish I were more like them. I wish that I were able to enjoy the good parts of life without focusing so heavily on the worst bits.

It's pointless and meaningless to carry on punishing ourselves when existence becomes intolerable.
It's all just futile repetition, and we will eventually die anyway.
