I saw somebody had a failed attempt and they were in a coma for three weeks or they said they woke up three weeks later? Why would this be

If the brain stem is functioning, you are vitally alive, you can breath and your heart still beats but it could take some time for higher brain power to power up again, and most people who stay in coma for so long, dont just suddenly wake up, its a long process and they mostly wake up with some mental disabilities that can take sometime to return back to 'normal' and maybe sometimes never
