• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

i just don't wanna leave this world, being a piece of shit who accidentally, hypothetically hits someone walking by in the street that i didn't see.

i got back to reconsidering the jumping method, however, after i read a japanese actress did it.

i was thinking, if i strap a really loud whistle around my neck, then i will blow the whistle,
so that if there DOES happen to be somebody in the street i didn't notice, then they will hear the whistle,
and then look up, and they have time to get out my way.

i would choose a place that has no people anyway, but just for paranoia purposes... i get paranoid that somebody might be down there on the street.
so even if i'm looking down, and i see nobody at all, from whatever building i choose; then i would still blow the whistle just in case.

and then simply just do it, man...............................

strap a whistle around my wrist also, just in case the one around my neck falls off.
i want to be found with the whistle, so people will know i was being responsible...

I think there are lots of problems with jumping, some of which can be alleviated if the right preparations are made. However, I don't think a whistle will help the way you're imagining it will. For one, you may not be able to muster sufficient breath to whistle loud enough. Also, assuming you jump from a relatively short height and blow the whistle starting at the moment you jump, those on the ground may not be able to react in time. If you jump from a greater height to give them more time, you might be too far away to be heard on the ground.

I definitely don't recommend jumping at all, and I can't think of any safe and reliable ways to make yourself known before jumping. Throwing something before you jump could get people's attention, but you also run the risk of hitting them with the thrown object.

right, but if ever i did jump, it would be in a secluded area... some old abandonded building or whatever.
or a cell tower.
not in any highly populated area

I reckon that's a reason why jumpers draw attention to themselves before CTB, as drawing a crowd means people know to stay back, that and hesitation. But it could also give the authorities time to get equipment to stop you. As for the whistle, it won't make much difference. People may not know where the sound is coming from and that's if you blow the whistle. You will probably be too scared to even think about it.
