First of all, excuse my poor English.

I'm planning to ctb by jumping off a height.

I live in Egypt. There's no access to the roof of high buildings. So, I was thinking of booking a room at a hotel.

In order to guarantee death by this method I need to jump off the 15th floor or higher. In Egypt where I live, Hotels with this height are all expensive. I can handle the money, but the problem is that I never entered a hotel before and I also have social anxiety.

So, I want to know, in detail, what happens to a person from the moment he decides to book a room in a hotel to the moment he leaves this hotel.

That's extremely important to me given the fact that I have social anxiety.

I won't need to break any window. The hotel has rooms with balconies. I will just jump off the balcony.

Former hotel worker and also worked for one of the reservation companies out there so my area of expertise!

Once you choose your hotel you can start to book - I'd personally book with the hotel directly as there is less chance of issues occurring (the amount of times a reservation through a third party - like Expedia/AirBnB - doesn't correctly go through to the property is crazy.

You can chose from a variety of cancellation options; I'd try if you can to go with one where you can cancel free of charge on the day of arrival in case your plans change.

When you arrive they'll ask for your surname and then confirm the rest of your details (first name, what room is booked, how many nights you are staying, food booked). They'll normally ask if you want to leave a card for extras like room service so you'll pay on departure. Then they'll give you your room key and tell you the direction to your room. They likely won't tell you the room number, that will be inside the card holder written down (they don't say the number out loud in case someone is listening for bad reasons).

Once you are in your room, you won't see anyone until you leave. I'd lock the door in case the room is double booked in error (unlikely but it happens) and put a do not disturb on the door so cleaners each morning don't come in.

You could use inert gas as an alternative, very effective, fast and lethal and practically with no pain.
And it would be less headache than jumping from a balcony ( there is a lot that could go wrong ) you are surving.

Hotels assign rooms based on availability. What if the only available rooms are on lower floors?

When you check in, you can tell the front desk person that you'd prefer a room on the higher floors because they're less noisy, but there's no guarantee one will be available.

It might be more advantageous NOT to pre-book but to visit several hotels as a walk-in to see what's available for the night.

If you've pre-booked, the process is straightforward. You approach the front desk and give them your name. They'll ask for a drivers license or ID and the credit card you're paying with.

They'll tell you about their amenities like free breakfast and how to access the wifi.

You don't have to say anything other than 'thanks.'

After they check you in on their computer, they hand over your key and tell you when check-out is.

It's mostly them pecking away at a computer and you not having to say much.

Thanks a lot! That was really helpful!

If I said to them: "I want a room in the 15th floor" would that be viewed as weird or strange thing to say?

While 15 floors is well above the minimum height for possible death, me personally that's not high enough to be comfortable with attempting that height. 15 floors ranges between 150-220 feet, taking the lowest from the range, that's 45 meters. I'd really only recommend attempting any jumps that are from 100+ meters high onto solid ground (even 100+ meters has a small chance of surviving but seems like the best combination between chance of success and accessibility).

Unfortunately there's very few if any ideal locations in Egypt that I am 100% sure that are above 100+ meters. I doubt any hotel buildings go that high, I think only pyramids go that high, but of course it wouldn't be a vertical drop from a pyramid so that's out of the question.

Do you know of any hotels that go higher than 15 floors? Ideally you want to go as high as you can before making such attempt.

Not strange at all, you get people wanting 'a room with a view' 'room facing the sea' etc all the time. You may not even need to request if the room type you book is only on the top floors; I know suites and penthouse rooms normally are only on the top levels of places.

If you do need to request, ask the hotel when you book, and contact them in the morning you are arriving so they can pre-allocate your room.

I chose this method because I have no other method. Check out this thread if you want to know why:

I'm sorry you're in a tough spot. Sounds like there are so very few options in Egypt. I'm personally gonna use the dark net to try to get the things I want to ctb with. Usually if you pick the right vender, they're pretty good at concealing the contents of a parcel to greatly reduce the risks of it getting caught in customs. (Admittedly I lack knowledge of how Egypt's customs work compared to others, if a technically legal product like SN is getting seized so easily I can understand your concern.) But I also understand if you're too worried about giving the dark net a try, just trying to learn all of the necessary things you need to do like accessing the dark net, preparing the funds and learning how to communicate with others with encrypted messages, it's by no means easy and I imagine could be a big headache for a lot of people.

Say i want to see the city at night. Personally i would get drunk (not sure if easy in Egypt) sit on the balcony railing, looking into the room (to avoid SI) think seriously if this what you want. Then decide, roll backwards or give life a 2nd chance

Sorry i think you are mistaken.''This doctor's blog claims that: The median height leading to death is about 49 feet (15 meters), or about 4 to 5 storeys. 100% of victims die after falling 85 feet (25 meters), or about 8 storeys. Obviously, the 100% figure is incorrect as there have been individual people who survived higher falls'' On the suicide site it said more 150ft terminal on ground, 250ft on water, the same height as Golden gate bridge.

15 stories might not be enough to guarantee death. You might want to go higher. It is very sad that you have to go through so much trouble just to fulfil your wish to CTB. I hope things go the way you want them to go. Remember that CTB is not the only option. Hope that you can inform us of your solution to CTB.
