My previous company was great and they supported me while I was ill but my manager was jealous as I got excellent feedback but instead of quitting I had severe brain fog and couldn't make decisions so I ended up being dismissed.

Now I spoke to them and I said I didn't want new Employers knowing my illness as they wouldn't hire me so he said he spoke to HR and they can give me a basic reference where they just confirm dates and duties I said, can't you add a line saying great worker and missed.

I am getting nowhere I had interviews for jobs and they promised me a 2nd interview even told me what to prepare for to make it easier and said don't worry we will get in touch next week, recruitment women said sorry they decided not to pursue me for this role. I applied for a temporary role, recruitment woman got back to me within 20 minutes and said there were two roles in the company I want to put you forward for and they were good temporary money. I said great I will go for both. She never contacted me again and screens my calls and e-mails, so not even any feedback.

I have been through shot and a little jobsworth, Hitler is standing in my way so I thought if I can get a fake company and job references I can just forget about them and move on.

I'm in London UK so CLICK THIS LINK, HELP, any recommendations would be great, :smiling:.

Cheers

George

There are companies you can pay for a fake reference. They create a fake website, realistic work emails etc but it is illegal and you can be used for it.

Sued not used

Thanks, I have read about people using them and being caught, and asked to resign even one man took them to a tribunal, idiot and lost and had to pay over £4,000 in damages.

At this point in my life, I will toss a coin if I get away with it, I have a job and on my way to recovery, if I'm caught it's my chocolate, SN BOMB, :smiling:

I got a waitressing job after my mental meltdown and neet period. I networked my way into the position because my mum knew the owner so I didnt need references. Im now a receptionist there because a colleague recommended me. Is there something like this you can do?

The company I knew about seems to have gone out if business. The website was unavailable. Have you tried a us company, they might still be able to help

Thanks, I was looking at a couple in the US who said they provide the UK with references.

.....they can give me a basic reference where they just confirm dates and duties....

From my experience, references only confirm your start/leaving date, and what job title you held.

Unless you're looking for a character reference? In which case, most companies don't pay attention to that, as it's a bit like Parents Evening back in school (where you'd only book slots with teachers that you knew would give you praise)

Sadly I don't have any advice, as I'm in the same boat job wise, but be careful of recruitment agencies - sometimes they just "recruit" people for jobs that don't exist - just so they have workers on "standby" in their database

Get an uncle, auntie, in-law with a different name and say you've worked for them in a cleaning business, whatever. Don't disclose the family ties. I've got jobs and moved house using this trickery
