I have jobs as a waiter back in 2022. I always work overtime even though I don't get paid more and that is because I hate it when I'm at home, so I just spend a lot of my time in my workplace to avoid home. It was a nice workplace too, except that one time I get sexually assaulted but it was no big deal. The jobs was supposed to start at 9AM to 5PM, but like I said above, I work overtime so I come at 8AM and go home at 9PM. Which also mean my role is not only being a waiter, but also opening and closing too, and sometimes I do pastry and kitchen too. I'm gonna say that jobs is an awesome experience in my life. I quit the jobs because I am doing volunteers.

Now that I am doing college and try to search for a part time jobs, its all been a hell experience for me. I've been applying here and there with no result. I hate that I need to pay very very close attention to my CV and resume and write bullshit formal letter of why they should hire me, even after all that you are not guaranteed to be recruited. I don't really need that money right now, but it would be pleasant if I'm not a burden to anyone in my life, I want to be a self sustaining person. So yeah, I love working, but I hate the jobs searching part. Maybe anyone here have some kind of remote jobs reccomendation

Job searching is the most soul crushing thing I ever had to do, especially with the fact there's absolutely no income in my household right now
It's just constant rejection no matter how well the interview goes for you
The job market is shit here

For remote jobs I know of this website:
https://www.flexjobs.com/remote-jobs

Idk how well it works though, I've been so demotivated that I haven't applied anywhere on the site
Let me know if you find something there

Job search is indeed hell.
I've tried talking face to face with people at various stores and it usually goes really well as I know how to talk to people, make a great impression etc.
But my CV is just so lacking I'll never get hired no matter how much I try, unless we talk horrible cleaning jobs, and by horrible I mean cleaning jobs where even hardcore criminals would get hired, not regular cleaning jobs, as I think even those would be out of reach to me, lmao..
I tried bothering hardcore with a ~proper~ CV and resume that even my case workers or occasional HR rep would say is really, really well written, but that didn't lead me anywhere, and because I kept feeling rejected when ghosted or literally was rejected it hurt me so much.
At least now with more meme-ish CVs and resumes I don't take it as badly because I don't expect anything out of those, lol.

As in they're not filled with bs wording, phrases and tags to make me seem something I am not, but instead filled with me as who I am.
I'll show excitement, joy, speak more casually and have a more fun CV picture on it where I have pink hair etc.

Granted, this does make it way less likely to even get seen by the AI scanning through everything now for those things, though, but as I've already given up idgaf anymore.

Also, I once applied to a nearby cafe and spoke with the owner DIRECTLY FACE TO FACE. He told me to send him my application and CV so I did and never got a reply. I ended up boycotting his place for quite a while, but recently I went there again and as I wore pink hair that day again he literally did his best to avoid speaking to me or even seeing me, and he looked visibly ashamed, lmao.. Previously we'd always talk and such, so this was extremely unusual for him.
Like, idk, I found that funny I'll admit, but why couldn't he at least say no instead of ghosting me, lol.

Yeah, the whole job searching thing is just a pain in the ass, especially when you are a immigrant in a different country. And the whole language barrier thing is not the problem in my case. I actually bought an color E-Ink Ebook Reader with the whole Android Play Store thing and I use a certain app to learn the language even before going to sleep but after sending like 48 job applications, going to 21 job interviews, I didn't score any job here in Poland. Meanwhile, I was also applying for jobs near the polish border in Germany and the situation wasn't that good either. After 72 job applications in Germany, I got 3 interviews and finally found a job there, where I have to drive 50km/31miles to work but at least I'm working from Wednesday till Sunday. I don't know if I should keep my current job or try my luck again in Poland but honestly, it hits me like PTSD, if I think about going through the whole job search process again : (

When it comes to the whole remote job thing, my friend in Germany was working in the customer support field for a German cellular and ISP provider and his job is quite interesting.

He logs into some employee control panel on a certain website, hit's a button and waits for a customer to connect to him. It's a text based support, which would be perfect for a guy like me, who doesn't like phone calls and is somewhat of an introvert and he gets paid based on his log in hours, where he can work 8 hours every day and get's a bonus for working six days a week. He helps customers, does the orders, makes customer appointment with technician and also the whole billing support thing.
I also tried to search for an similar job in my area but most of them had too high requirements. Yeah, and later on all those companies are scratching their heads on why they don't get any job applications and call it the "Gen Z Laziness" XD

Welfare sadly.
I could work easily if I got proper help but alas.

Forgot to mention racism as I don't have a local name, and you hear people just tossing resumes/CVs without a local name without even looking at qualifications, so I got that stacked against me, too, lol.

Really sucks man, even after the suffering of job searching, you still need to suffer the commute to it as well, hope everything goes better for you. Also your friend job is like the dream job for me where its fully remote and you barely do anything
