One of the issues I am facing due to my depression is impulse decisions.
I have a lot of interest on electronics, so I lost $1500 on ebay by buying expensive stuff and selling them cheaply.
I also tend to eat extremely, so I wasted $500 on grubhub by ordering food everyday.
Because I lost $2000, I feel guilty and I keep thinking about this.

I did a lot of that in my youth. As a young car enthusiast, I spent countless tens of thousands and ended up with little to show for it. I wish I had some mentoring so I could have made better choices, but I had fun at the time and it did eventually teach me the value of money.

I done things like this in the past. I feel something was missing so spend money to try and fill the void. Unfortunately it never seems to work. Not only is the void still around but you're 1000s of pounds out of pocket too.

Not all issues I would say to just let it slide but I really hope you release this guilt. Money comes and goes, it's okay. I know it's important but your peace of mind is more important. We live and learn on this one. You can convert the negative feelings into motion to make some changes. You're admitting there was a problem and see that you want to do better.

You're not alone. I remember when I was really down and losing it I spent hundreds on online psychic chats. I spent 2 grand on an online course I let expire. I've made some bad choices with money. You recognize it and allow room to move forward. I hope you feel better on this one soon.

I have wasted so much money on cars over the years. Very few mods bring value - most actually decrease the worth of a vehicle. Worst mistake was selling a 2003 Evo that needed a new turbo for around $11k. Today, that car is worth about $20k, not running (mine was, just had a bad turbo seal).

Yes, the values of the ageing classics are all skyrocketing. I've learned the same lesson about mods. Just buy the right car in the first place - it's cheaper and better. Though it can be good for someone with a first car to learn about the basics of car parts, I suppose.

I totally agree with @Live Free or Die, as one only lives once. I am 65. reference point only, and I have made a lot of stupid money decisions, or what I thought at the time, when I was younger but now when I look back and in the condition that I am in physically, I would do it all over again.

One leaves with what one comes with, ZERO, and enjoying things when one is able to is part of an awesome life.

At least you had thousands to begin with. Would you like to work 10 hour-nights manual labour only and not afford anything more than $10 even after 7 years of being there and not escaping, because it's your family's business?

Guilt is useless unless a person feels it ahead of doing something bad and it stops them...like killing someone..for example. Quit punishing yourself. I used to get angry at my mother because she thought guilt was the way to punish us as children. All it made me was angry because we couldn't discuss the situations at all. Useless. Over the years I have probably spent more than that on marginally useful items and so have millions of other people. Give yourself a break!! HUGS !!

Baking. That is is a third-world country, where $7 coffee doesn't happen.
That sucks. A long time ago, I went out with a girl who worked at a Panera's style place. The baker was paid off the books, $120/night for maybe 5 hours work. He did it as a second job, and was able to sleep half of the time.

I hope you're able to get a job that has a much better balance and pay.

No, I'm an uncivilised and hopeless nothing. I can barely do 4th grade math. I don't have anything resembling a normal life everybody else has, even here. Everybody works, dates, speaks coherently. Everybody has money to spend. I'm not anywhere near.

Thank you anyway. As humans we need being told well even in this condition. There is no passionate hate for life without a hint of love as Camus said once.

I was scammed yesterday also but not as a high amount as you, I have a Mail package stuck in customs, and received a text message, saying I needed to pay 4 euros to get it to me, all looked legit. Had the postal logo, so I paid, next I was redirected to an online gaming server, and was like I got punked. How in this world those idiots knew I had a package to be cleared by customs. Cancelled my card, called the post office this morning. im sorry about your spending, it can be an addiction also. There was a time I used to spend loads on eBay, then the item would arrive would have a quick look and put it under the bed. U still have time to fix this, I deleted my eBay app. Good luck. Wish you the best in coping with this.

Why do some countries have such a ridiculous hardon for taxes? Maybe if they weren't inspecting every package, they wouldn't need to tax everything to cover those people's salaries.

My countries are thieves imagine you buy me a gift and send it from America, they will calculate what's insise, even the postage counts as a for for them to tax me 21% of goods there were a gift from you for example. Then they hold it in customs for like 3 weeks, tracking doesn't work. Each telephone operator tells me different things. I wish my country had decency customer service. But better not stress about it, they can even send the package back to you and make you pay the postage again. Outrageous.

It would just be easier for me to send you money via paypal, and you buy what you want. The conversion from one currency to another is only $5 us.

Doesn't the customs declaration say postage is already paid?! What the hell. So you would be paying postage from America again, for a package coming from no farther than the other side of the country.. How the hell one party ships and the other receives, if postage wasn't somehow paid by anybody?!

You can't have water on international flights departing here. Can't have a bottle of water, because terrorists can use them to make hydrogen bombs.

Now since the UK left the European Union, I'm only entitles a 22 euro item from the uk free of charge, or else there will come the tax police opening my stuff. I live abroad and never saw these things, in a country were the minimum wage is 650 euros a month, I do make more, but most people live with 650 euros a month and being taxed on everything , having all prices as the rest of the developed countries that make 3ooo euros a month, you do the math, it's sad…in Spain minimum wage is 16oo euros and all their prices from petrol to housing and groceries are cheaper than my neighbour country, and no one goes to the streets and try to change things, the most passive people I've met. A ck one perfume that no one uses anymore, rest of Europe 20 euros, Portugal 120. Sigh….

It does say paid but they still add it up with the paid items inside and make a sum of it, I know only in my country, it's surreal.
So in summary a friend sends me a gift paid for by my friend, and postage paid by my friend, they add all up, including the postage. Add on top of it all including postage and send me a 21% vat on top of it to pay, when my friend paid all of it, a country of thieves.

And ps, I vape, Portugal is the only country that taxes nicotine for eletronic vapes, I vape 6mg of nicotine that would be 6 bottles of 10ml at 6 euro each, plus all the vaping flavors and base liquids. Which would make it cheaper to smoke it. Luckily I found an underground shop that only charges me 12 euros for my 6mg nicotine shot. But if they are caught they are in big trouble, I mean aren't we allow to vape also. Every other country no one charges nicotine shots only mine. In a normal country they just ask what's the strength you like, I say 6mg, and that us given for FREE with the whole set I would pay 12 euros. Now even with underground shop I pay 30. A regular by the book shop I would pay 60. That's the only reason um vaping, if that shop clothes Im not giving a penny to this corrupt government,

Here people commute 1 hour and a half each way to make 650 a month so they have to live with their parents at 30-45 years old. I'm glad I have my own house, mortgage and car , Im one of the few with s proper wage, there are no housing benefits here either. No money, no family street is your house. I will go abroad again when I get well. I fell like a foreigner in my Own country, police brutality in the states us getting out of control once again people protest for a few days and that's it, it's sad…specially anout that schoolboy just reaching for his wallet on request. 41 rounds of bullets.

The bank I've used has a system that you can limit the amount of money you use daily. And you can set it by yourself (anywhere from 20€ to who knows how much). For example, I used to have a max 200 euros of withdrawal per day, and 200€ per day for buying stuff. That way even if you want to buy something expensive you can't. It also helps against thiefs. If someone wants to steal money from your account they can only do it in parts.

Grubhub as in grubby hand group? There's this bookie Betfair, I call them Betunfair.

A woman, Portuguese at that?

Seriously, do you at least get quality vape juice? Here (Bultrashia) it's so low quality and equally expensive. I mean, they taste so offish. Especially grapes. What is your favourite, if you can atleast maintain your hobby?

Btw, you prob know, but, have you tried fragrancenet, fragrance.com and fragrancex? Huge discounts on legit grey marketers. For decants on high-end niche, your country has a place called fragrantworldshop, but at approx 5 € a sample, I think it's way too expensive. If you know German, the parfumo community does exchanges. I also know a few other cheaper decant sites in Europe.

May not be your cup, but how does it go now with a socialist cabinet? Are they the ones you rightfully hate so much? Or just governments in general?
