I know what I need to do to help myself get better from BPD & Depression.
I completely understand that I and the one that needs to change my habits, routine & way of life.

I get incredibly motivated at night but every single morning I hit snooze, neglect myself and immediately think of suicide.

I have no discipline whatsoever. I don't want to end up dead on the side of a road because of my mental health. I want to be a success story and inspire others, become a mental health nurse and help those in my shoes! I still hit snooze.

Same and it sucks :( I was supposed to do things like clean my room, take off the labels of my meds,, organize them, vacuum and settle some bills, but I end up either listening to music or sleeping every time

I relate about the snooze part and feeling depressed in the morning but better latter in the day. Some people are just not morning people( about 30% of people are nocturnal) and yet society decided that we should all wake up in the morning and go to work/school. Something i decided that might help you:
-Set a challenge for yourself for 30 days. Say :" it will suck big time and i'll hate it but i'm gonna be disciplined for the next 30 days". Stick to it even if the thought of all of it being pointless/ too hard comes in your mind. Right now i'm in my 30 days. In the meantime i'll buy N and if after this challenge i find out that i'm miserable and can't change, then i'm gonna see what i do( CTB or try again for another 30 days). Right now i've set my mind to not focus on the morning negative thoughts. Just go through with it even if it feels pointless and horrible. Never been a disciplined person so it's something new for me to discover. Hope it helps.

i can totally relate. i get a spurt of motivation to get my life together, stick to the plan for two or three days, and then give up. getting back at square one. discipline is hard to build, but it's not impossible. i think my biggest mistake with trying to fix myself is putting a time or number on it (do this for 7 days, stick to this diet that will cure depression). after that time has passed, i go straight back to my old way of living.

my new approach is going to have no labels or numbers on it. to stick to something for a long period of time, it has to fit into your lifestyle. example: i you're not a morning person, don't workout in the morning. do it when you actually have the energy to do it. and don't put any expectations on yourself. it can feel daunting to expect yourself to workout for three hours. 30 minutes is enough to build some discipline.

all this i've learned from the internet, i haven't yet implemented it into my life. i hope this helps for you and me!

The lack of vital energy to give strength to motivations can only be partially replaced by discipline, but this can not be maintained much longer in time alone but we solve the problem of energy that sucks depression, already that it wears out a lot.

In each of us the solution is different, for some it will be walking and reflecting, for others a movie or a book or even a song ... maybe even a sudden experience that happens in our life that make us redefine everything ...
I do not know..
.. for a long time it has been difficult for me to find some stability in order to propose milestones with the peace of mind of knowing that I will be able to reach them ... no studies, no work, no personal leisure (drawing, playing on the console. ..).

I'm very sorry we admit in this post and know that I may never get out.

//

no ho sé..

I am definitely not a morning person and am still going really hard with an exercise regime. It helps to be doing it with someone else (a housemate) and to have found a gym with a relaxed and nonjudgmental atmosphere. Maybe the key is to not do it alone. Perhaps a meetup group in your area might help you connect with others striving to make a similar change.

If you can insert a task into your routine and stick with it, it may open the door to being able to take increasingly greater control.

You might want to start with something so trivial that it would be difficult to not do it. This may slowly build momentum that you can build on.

It's nice that I'm not the only one dealing with this shit
No, you're definitely NOT.

Yes. I think having (or not having) a good support system is a key reason why some recover and some don't.

Depression really makes the most basic things like getting out of bed or taking care of your body difficult. I can relate 100% been going through this for months now.

I wish we could hire some kind of depression coach who would get us out of bed and make us exercise. That would be useful.

This is very similar to my plan. I obtained SN but I'm going to try to give the whole living thing a shot until my 30th birthday (almost a year later). I'm only a week into this mindset and it's really hard to not slip fully into old bad habits. But I do feel some energy to give life another chance

Actually, there are some psychiatric hospitals who offer this kind of stuff for depressive persons, to make them establish a daily routine. I don't know if it is good however as I've never been to a mental hospital.

It's very hard for me as well. I'm taking antidepressants and some days is better but other days i have no mood to do anything. Keep wondering almost every morning why to put in all this effort when living is not satisfactory enough. Only like to sleep honestly.

That is definitely helpful - having a "body double" (no, NOT the Hollywood kind, sorry) can be very helpful. They don't even have to be physically with you (can be in a different room, or even online) or doing the same thing.

One of my therapist told me that the trick is to constantly give yourself some tasks, among them, some you like and some you hate. Finish them, enjoy the things you like and make peace with things you hate. The more you achieved the more you feel in control of yourself. The more you feel in control of yourself, the more you can achieve. Upward cycle. It works for me sometimes.
