This morning around 4AM, i took fathers peugeot 206 and equipments for charcoal suicide.
I lit the Weber briquettes with chimney starter and after around 54 minutes i took them into a metal bucket and put it in the car. I got drunk and after 20 minutes i went inside the car. It was pretty hot inside but that was ok. After 5 minutes i was breathing rapidly but feeling ok. I fell asleep and woke up after around 25 minutes feeling very very very bad. Nausea and headhache, fatigue etc. I didn't leave the car despite this and started vomiting in the car. After 5 minutes of bearing i got out of the car and immediatly collapsed to the ground and fell asleep then woke up after couple of hours with a very bad headhache. I drove home, my parents were about to call the cops. took a shower, went to sleep. Now i feel terrible and stuck.

I think vomiting and headache are indeed caused by carbon monoxide. In your current situation you are still at risk of carbon monoxide poisoning which might have long-term complications if untreated.

I am sorry to hear that you have to experience this.

I was groggy for almost a week after my carbon monoxide attempt. It also affected my memory too. Spend a lot of time outside and breathing deeply.

Perhaps the 54m after being lit, before going in the car was too much time.
Light them in the car, then wait an hour, maybe thats the ticket.

it is probably because i didnt stay inside the car longer. But that pain was unbearable. I am not going to try this method again. It will be either jumping or shot to head after this point.

It is supposed to be a peaceful method if done correctly ...
As indicated by 8chan, the coals must be white before they are put inside.
Maybe the concentration of CO was not enough

When i put the coals into bucket, almost all of them was fully white except the ones on the top and the ones at the bottom were almost becoming ashes.

I have read those post a thousand times, posted my story there too

So I do not know what could have gone wrong.
Maybe all the coals must be white without exception? ...
The amount of coals was sufficient and the vehicle was well sealed?
They also recommend (although not necessarily) taking benzos to help with possible discomfort.
Although in theory, if you enter when the concentration of CO is sufficient, in a matter of minutes you faint.
I am sorry.

It may be due to leaving the charcoal in the chimney starter too long. After 20-25 minutes, dump from chimney starter into grill or bucket. They chimney starter burns hotter and faster, and the charcoal may have been nearly spent by the time you put it in the car.

20-25 minutes in starter.
Dump in grill or bucket.
Wait 20-25 more minutes (40-50 minutes total).
Place in car.
Enter car 20 minutes later.

It sounds like it was working but you just had to wait longer. Lower concentrations take more time, especially the charcoal method. I don't think it was a problem with the charcoal, just the time. Even low concentrations are fatal, if exposed for a longer period of time. "Death occurs after about 2 hours at 1500 ppm, and can occur after shorter exposures at higher concentrations (eg, within 30 minutes at 3000– 6000 ppm)". Here's an interesting study on it:

https://www.mja.com.au/system/files/issues/197_06_170912/win10777_fm.pdf

According to the PPeH, the charcoal will not reach maximum CO for at least 77 mins. And if you check the graph, the CO concentration (ppm) stays low for a pretty long time. It was only at 6000 ppm at 45 mins. It seems like you just needed longer exposure. This is why it's probably best to take benzo's or sleeping pills so you're already asleep, while waiting and that way you shouldn't even know. That's what I plan to do.

Can you please advise us what was so bad about it that you had to get out? Was it smoky or did you feel like you were suffocating?

I appreciate your bravery in attempting and sharing the results. Thanks for letting us know and I hope you're feeling ok now. If you're not planning on doing it again soon, you may need to see a doctor. All the best.

Edited to add info from PPeH.

no, in an apartment you could be risking other people's lives.
Better do it outside in a car or in a tent somewhere.

I'm sorry about the failure, if that's a proper thing to say.

After just checking a NHS source, those symptoms are common. What about those old stories of old people gassing themselves with CO from the stove ? Or do young people have too much resiliency ?

It was like alcohol poisoning, i definetly felt like suffocating, there was no smoke. It was like hell i cannot imagine myself being able to endure that.
