To understand the r dependence, surround the source by a sphere of radius r. All the sound, emitted by the source with power P, passes through the sphere. When the sound reaches the sphere its intensity is:
I = P/(4pr2)
That's the surface area of a sphere in the denominator.
Double the distance and the intensity drops by a factor of 4, etc.

For sure IQ isn't fixed- it is based on specific knowledge like math and english- IQ really should be abondoned as a measure on intelligenc because it gives the impression that it is fixed- but for most people, unless disabled, IQ is malleable like strength is- if yu work out you can get stronger :)

I know but it purports to be a measure of "g" which is supposed to be like height (highly heritable, immutable, etc).

Being in work or education can be one of the most tedious parts of this life. We are just slaves to the society. We are forced into this horrible life and then we have all these expectations placed upon us and we are under so much pressure. In my opinion, it is better to never exist in the first place. I wish you the best with what you are doing.

Rather than sulking, I think it's better for you to spend your time and energy studying what you don't understand. https://www.khanacademy.org/ is a good free resource. You can get free textbooks legally from Openstax and illegally from Library Genesis. Understand the concepts instead of just memorizing how to compute symbols.

Remember to practice constantly. Math is not a spectator sport.

You can you will you must, you can work this out. Ever tried ever failed, try again fail again fail better.

Not all of us are maths genius's, not all can do certain things, don't be so hard. Do your best, once you know you have, then congrats to you

Please don't obsess over your IQ. It does have some significance in predicting your success and it can matter for some things but, multiple types of intellignece exist eg. there are people who are great at music or math but terrible in spatial orientation or communicating their ideas.
Generally speaking, if the validity of test you took is satisfactory (meaning you did not take random test on internet) , IQ of 100 is average- it means that the most people on whatever sample that test has been standardized on have the same score as you.

Undergraduate programmes are made (or are suppposed to be made) so that the average person and not only "gifted people" can and most likely will do well in them as long as they do the work. requred. Now that may require a lot of effort and time (maybe more than what most are willing to do), but eventually it's doable, and in those types of settings high IQ alone cannot take you very far anyway.
