I failed my first attempt

Yesterday I had a breakdown I was crying a lot so I took the whole bottle of NyQuil and a punch of Benadryl with it.. all what I know I'm by the toilet at 3am throwing up like crazy nothing in my stomach so I was just dying… I think I was unconscious from 12-3.. right now I'm just so tired I can't even grab anything with my hands.. just need to die

Thank you so much!! I'm just tired I didn't drive or even go out but I'm very upset it didn't work.. my stomach hurts a lot. I'm not vomiting anymore. It's like a nightmare I don't even remember walking to the bathroom..

This is a terrible thing, a failed suicide attempt is cruel, I'm sorry for what you went through, I'm glad you're okay.

I can feel the same thing, unfortunately we are forced to be born and suffer, even suicide is not that easy, plus the world we live in is against suicide and this makes it worse. I wish you well and success in your next attempt if this is your decision and what will bring you peace.

You need to go to the ER immediately. It is unclear how much acetaminophen you've ingested, but that is an incredibly prolonged/painful way to go out. Please go to the ED so they can give you Mucomyst and avoid you a ton of agony. It takes time for the acetaminophen to destroy liver cells, so you are not necessarily in the clear at all, and could be in for a lot of pain, so please go get checked out!

Sorry for the pain and suffering that led you to make that impulsive attempt.I feel it day in day out too. Just want release. I'd have to say though you have been here long enough to know that OD's on OTC meds. Will not work and just make you sick for a few days. Before I knew better I tried a few OD's on meds I had. Got me nothing but a stay in the psych ward. Except in freak instances these do not work. The resources available here outline the most sure methods and even those may fail at times. Plus you have to make compromises as none are perfect. Not the just peacefully falling asleep and not waking up most of us want but most likely won't get. I don't think any of us here are ever going to find the elusive perfect way. It's all about compromise and resolve to actually carry it out. SI is a beast. Our bodies and minds are programmed to keep us alive at all costs. I wish you the best going forwards and hope you find what it is you are seeking.

People are writing such kind responses. I don't have such high empathy but from my point of view, an attempt is when you do something that have a genuine chance of working. Anything else is just some random, panicked, uninformed confused actions. So I would not consider what you did "an attempt" therefore I would also not consider that you "failed" any attempt. Whether CTB is for you or not I don't know but what you ended up doing is just self-torture, either consciously or unconsciously, not an actual attempt at anything

I prob will just do the gunshot next time but I have to learn how to use it.. none understands my pain living without my son like I'm burning in fire every second he was everything to me now I'm nothing

It's always a painful and embarrassing moment. This is cold comfort but many of us have had the same experience you just had so don't think you're suffering through this alone!

Thank you for the support! My brother wants me to go to the ER because I told him i have a flu I mean I do look sick everything hurts but I refused. I'm going to take sleeping pills and sleep a lot hopefully I don't get up

Make sure you're at least comfortable when that happens, don't go out completely miserable.

oh yes it is horrible when you wake up or they take you to the hospital when you failed. There are so many feelings that a person can feel but they are all overwhelming... or most of them....

I didn't go to the hospital but I'm very sick I can't keep anything in my stomach and I'm coughing a lot
