This year is the year I finally lost my faith in Goodness, Justice, Beauty and Freedom......... I believe there's life immediately after death and for the miserable such as ourselves it's (going to be) misery. I've believed in the resurrection just like other monotheists for a few years now but that didn't stop me from being suicidal, I used to think I could kill myself and reduce the number of years I would have lived on Earth and just get a head start on the Eternal damnation I'm destined for....but now I believe this evil world leaves no stone unturned and that there's life immediately after death that precedes the bodily resurrection. This means if I did kill myself I wouldn't cut out a single moment of misery because in the immediate afterlife I would just carry on suffering until the resurrection and Eternal hell. I believe all this on somewhat empirical grounds, here are my reasons for this worst of outcomes where I'm trapped existing in misery........ • The Enlightenment was a failure, e.g the pessimism of Voltaire and the rise of skepticism and Atheism wasn't effective enough to get people to stop reproducing lambs (us) to the slaughter (the world), irrational ugly life triumphed over dispassionate nihilism (a historical metaphor for how life in all it's pain and misery will break out of death upon our deaths) • The Abolition of Slavery was a failure, e.g there are more slaves on Earth then there's ever been, Afro-Americans have been herded into prisons or warzone-like ghettos. (A metaphor for how even AFTER we know a way of life is wrong it persists or mutates into another enduring form, my own wretched life would survive abolition (suicide) by simply mutating into something else....a life of immaterial misery for example) • Human rights are next to worthless, e.g there are now too many (rights) so that the basics are undermined, and our very recent scamdemic has shown us just how fragile Human rights really are (they didn't exactly hold up to the totalitarian policies during covid) (This example goes with the idea of judgement day...if your so called Universal Human Rights didn't hold up during the outbreak of a coronavirus why would God not ride roughshod over those same Human rights?). Thank you all for reading this far, I hope this sparks a discussion.
